Popular Post tortron
A while ago I picked this POS up from PStar The reminants of a 1952 Rudge Sports, which had clearly been residing in a scrap heap for a while I even had people chasing me down the street to insult my new purchase Perfect I stripped off what remained of the accessories A front guard, basket mount, bell bracket, and a broken front brake - I wont be needing those Installed Cork grips Vintage brooks saddle and seatpost replaced bottom bracket spindle Hammered bent stem into shape filed out the drop outs for new track wheelset sakae cranks and toe clips Now it looks like this
tortron
Whats next? Il probably rub the frame down with bees wax Adjust the seat I have some nicer track cranks but as of yet no suitable chainring for them I have some high flange Miche flip flop hubs or probably none of the above and save all that for a custom frame might want a front brake IDK, I'm probably too old for that stuff. Might go do some laps at the wee velodrome in hillcrest no doubt I missed the boat on fixies being hip, but whatevs, I'm pretty much a professional cyclist and bright coloured bikes with bmx bars are lame Il probably sell it if you want it bad enough

Rookie
Said no one ever. How many bikes do you need = n+1 Where n is the number of bikes you already own.
tortron
Things i have done recently Front brake - i dont like the lever, havnt found one i think suits. alsmost swapped it for a centrepull but it looked horrible longer stem. doesnt handle like total crap now that the weight isnt so far behind the front wheel longer chain so its not only half in the dropouts I torched off the pully mount, pump pegs, and front guard mounts. THis was a silly thing to do because they all had locator tabs and left holes in the frame, which i then had to braze up. But i dont have a grinder here so whatevs I think thats is. I didnt file off the rear guard mounts because i have some track ends im going to braze in

tortron
So i have another bike Its Terrible Mustang Sports. Was a 3speed An 8ft tall person had tried to stretch the frame to fit them i guess it wasnt good Im going against week before bike summit rules and am shrinking it and turning it back to normal, so I can sledge into some crowds First, the yuckness. it was covered with red tape not even any tubing to cover it And tidied up a little. I think that bottom headtube lug is bent, the tubing is nearly spot on straight going into it. Maybe its an illusion because I need to clean it up some more. Threw some bits at it to see what it looks like. Not too bad Almost have enough spares to have it ridable, don't have a bottom bracket tool because I only ever deal with cup and cone, or the phil wood one on my touring bike. So waiting till then. Will bomb around as is for a while. The ultimate beater, just to see how well my joints hold. I silver brazed them. If it falls to bits then whatever because I only really paid for the fork. If it doesn't fall to bits - then gloss black High flange flip flop hub for fixed/single speed blacked out everything else

tortron
Overnight parts from Russia should work alright. These are 5mm thick. the original are a whopping 1/8", so I think il just cut them off and grind them out, this should get rid of any old brass, then il zap them with a welder
