Vintage Grumble
I was thinking about that the other day, I don't think ride on tyres/rims will handle the speed/power. I think i'll have to look into quad bike rims, then there will be a pile of different tyres I can get for it, everything from mud grips to racing quad tyres. Do the rims you have, happen to be 8" from a husky? With a 3/4" shaft?

Popular Post Vintage Grumble
Still wasting my time on this, and have recently done the following thangs, Made a new steering wheel boss, Made a new steering shaft support, which the gear changer connects to, Nicked the shifter cable out of a car, (which I regret not noting down the make and model of, in case I need another in the future) Cleaned up the back axle/disc/disc carrier, as they were either bent or rusty. Also rebuilt the original rear caliper. Moved the steering support from the shiny bar on the left, to the new bar on the right. This is so the seat can go way forward, so standard/short people can pilot the craft, Spaced the pedals apart to make room for the brake, Purchased a second hand Vapor, same as I had on my Street Magic, shows speed/rpm/temps/warning lights/distance and so on, Got some front rims (which are skinnier than normal rears, but slightly wider than normal fronts) I just have to weld up the bead lock holes. Keen on another set of proper fronts if anyone knows of any, Then I machined up new stub axles to take the front brake set up, These were flippin hard to align and weld on, but got them pretty damn close to each other, they just ended up with more camber then before, Then I made a shifter handle. It may end up having flappy paddles, but until I get it running, I can't be sure on the effort needed to change gears, so this will do for now, And the engine end of the shifter set up, I also gave the carbs a rebuild as I had them off, Slapped the brake peddle on to test position, will end up something like this, And that's about it. I'm going to try get it running next, hopefully it sounds badass, as that's very important. Regards, VG.
HighLUX
I think that shifter cable possibly came from something I wrecked a few years back? Well thats what my brain is trying to tell me

Popular Post Vintage Grumble
I'm just gonna slap some of the pretty pics in here (Once again, go fuck yourself photobucket) and let them do the yabbering. Shit tons are missing, but you get the idea. Yeh so recently I mounted the oil cooler, machined up a sprocket hub and welded the machined out sprocket to it (them sprockets are flippin hard BTW) I also got a box of NOS chain cheap, and an oil filter while I was at the motorbike shop. It also has a throttle cable now, which consists of the AE86's original throttle cable connected to the go karts original one, seems to do the trick. I then started mucking about with the hydraulic clutch, going to see if the GPX's rear brake master is big enough to push the clutch slave, might have to get it running first to check that properly. So yeh, better get it running. Regards, VG. P.S. Fuck you photobucket, you're worse than Helen Clark.

I'll post a pic of it as complete as it is soon. Open to serious offers.
