AllTorque
Sweet truck. Such an awesome shape. I hope you plan on keeping the paint as is. If you want a modern V8 in there, it's gotta be a LS.

I second this. Great looking truck but please don't fit a Japanese V8 motor! (I have nothing against them, they just dont belong in American cars sorry haha)

Kiwibirdman
Nice truck. My 2 cents worth is a 5.3 out of 2000 or later pickup. Go for ever, make reasonable horsepower, good on gas, especially in one of those trucks that don't weigh much.
flyingbrick
Niiiice. Yes, 1uz will be yuck in this. Fit an ls or a diesel hehe.
lownslow
Awesome! +1 for an LS engine. But agree 100% leaving the body as is
73crownwagon
I'll sell u a 454 at a good price if I don't put a UZ in it
Ghostchips
My sister thinks 1UZ is cheaper and more reliable than USA engines so she would approve of using one.
_Matt
I was thinking of going 1UZ since there seems to be plenty of them around and they're much cheaper than an LS from what I've seen. An LS would be sweet though. Still got ages before I'll buy an engine anyway.

Threeonthetree
Engine suggestions: LD28 or 253. But seriously a late model V8 diesel would be spectacular! I'm with Liam-B, as much as the 1UZ is a great motor in its own right, I don't think it's the correct choice for this vehicle at all. I mean it's not even diesel.. nickrock
Go the whole hog put a Cummins 903t or even a old cat v8 that will naturally get the front end right down hehe 350hp and about 900 ftlbs of torque used to just love the sound of the turbo winding up fully loaded coming up from thaihape
