flyingbrick
Tech Article Do you still have to shrink the perimiter if you were to use a bead roller and stop shy of the edge?

flyingbrick
Yeah hahaha. a fingerbrake probably costs more than a bead roller. Gosh I'd love a swaging machine
Ghostchips
Do you still have to shrink the perimiter if you were to use a bead roller and stop shy of the edge? i have only used one twice and did not shrink anything, this does not mean that it does not need to be done though, just not in my very limited experience.
NickJ
I have a panel in the boot to replace, have been unsure how to do it nicely, this post was good timing if I ever saw it, cheers and thank you!

Nominal
I had to heat and flatten the ends of this firewall panel around the ends of the beading. Another way around it is to pre-stretch the beaded area. It also depends on whether you need the peice to be totally flat when done. Running the bead right across then shrinking the end bits worked for me.
