The existing (very large) oldschool.co.nz banner is now in the custody of KK, esq. in sunny Wellington for the benefit of the whole country and with the upcoming summer of events, some discussion with other Auckland members has prompted me to float this idea and see what sort of buy-in we would have if we were to fundraise amongst our area only, for a banner and stand to be used exclusively for Auckland/Upper North area events. What we thought of proposing was a simple donation scheme - as little or as much as you feel like donating, towards having this made/constructed. Approximate cost would be $450ish at a guess, accounting for manufacture of the synthetic canvas banner itself, a metal stand, protective coating of the stand as well as bungee cords, ropes, fastenings etc as required. If interested in donating please express your intentions here - I will endeavour to get in touch with you all shortly regarding this and get it cranking. If we could, getting something sorted pre-Leadfoot would be ideal, plus we can also use it at Caffeine and Classics over summer and give our little group of attendees some identity! Any surplus funds after banner manufacture will go back into the main OS account as donations unless anyone objects?
