So i've had this vehicle for about a year now just been a bit too lazy to document any progress to date. Currently, i'm working on throwing a 20v Blacktop 4AGE into my KE26.

Here is the vehicle:

I'll post more pics and info soon.

Ok so I managed to buy a W55 with a niteparts bellhousing from someone else's project. The standard k50 gearbox is shown on the bottom while the w55 is shown on the top. As you can see with the foward celica shifter position they basically pop-out the same shifter hole. The cross-member had to be fabricated so it sat a bit further back for the w55 though I might upload a pic of the members next to each other later. Tunnel has to be bashed for it to fit, I mean 'massaged'.

Oh and that's the old driveshaft sitting on the boxes btw:

OK so with a little help today I ripped the 5k engine out of the body and threw it on a pallet:

And here is the 4age, but it's not ready to go in yet. I still not to ditch the dizzy and block it off for coilpacks, and convert the cooling over to RWD using the SQ kit. Haven't bought these yet waiting for next pay check to come in.

Now for a little history lesson on the car that I found. It was a another old school member's car they restored looks pretty damn good in those photos:

//oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/23234-cams-1972-ke26-build/?hl=%2Bke26+%2Bcam

It had a 5k in it with mikuni solexes sidies. The 5k is not so healthy these days but it's going in my bro's car once it's had a minor rebuild.

Unfortunately the resto is failing very hard in multiple places, i'm getting rust bubbles and paint imperfections popping up in lots of places.

I bought replacement fenders and a fibreglass bonnet earlier in 2014, but now that the cancer is spreading to parts i can't easily repalce i'll be smashing it all myself later in the year.

Here's on of the dozen rust bubbles, there's cancer bubbles for Africa on this car:

Small update. Cousin came over yesterday and we got bored and ripped the cam cover and timing cover off. Also had a bit of a poke around to see what needed replacing. Afterall i'm not the richest so the engine is going to stay stock for quite a while otherwise my car may not be on the road for a very long time.

That silver looking thing is the SQ dizzy relocation plate. Decided to run dizzy with stock ecu and it was way cheaper than the alternative coil packs with aftermarket ecu.

Anyway I replaced the hydraulic tensioner it was looking all corroded and didn't want it to fail seeing as the blacktop is interference and nobody wants a fist fight in the cylinder:

Then I thought geez there's a lot of oil beneath the timing cover maybe should replace the cam seals and it's a good thing i did too:

And then I realised the crank pulley needed to be tensioned to a setting that my torque wrench could not handle. So at the point all attention span was lost and we went for a bit of a drive to a remote area for some fun:

But the photo of the day went hands down to my brother's e30:

But now i'm a bit broke because of new flat and night-course fees, and combine that with the fact i'm paid monthly and there wont be a decent update till late next month. Which is pretty depressing.
