Looking at buying some wheels for my KZJ95 Prado, what are people's thoughts on offset? Stock wheels are 16x7 Et15, looking at going to a 16x8 Et0. How much extra load is this likely to place on wheel bearings, ball joints etc? Enough to be worth worrying about in practice? Inside of the rim will be pretty close to the same place but obviously the outside will be further out so I assume this will move the centre of pressure out a bit also? Didn't have too many issues with my KZN130 but that was so long ago that I can't remember what offset the wheels on that were.

It'll be fine

I've got 15x10 -44 on my kzj78 like most people do. It's really not a big deal

Go ask on a few of the 4wd pages what everyone else runs . Takes the guess work out of buying the wrong offset rims

Yeah seen heaps of people running significantly more offset but also seen a lot of others whinging about ball joints failing prematurely etc so hard to know. Worst case I guess I'll just buy something with less offset down the track if I have too many issues.

Buy genuine toyota ball joints and theyll last fine.

Surely a 150000km 1kz, then the water gets heated directly by the combustion gases rather than by convection through the metal. Significantly more efficient.

Mmmmm sleepy time bubble bath 🫣

Use it to drive a BIG pump. Use small pipes off the outlet, and run a valve so you can throttle the discharge way way down to load the engine up/make lots of heat.

FYI, throttling a centrifugal pump reduces the load on the motor.

I use this technique to get away with running a 10kw motor on a cable thats only good for 6kw...

Is there a place that will sell wire suitable for petrol immersion, or know what spec to look for?

As I need to hook up my modded fuel pump somehow?
