Anyone in here clued up on Motorsport Nz regs?

Can I weld my LVVTA approved design seatbelt anchorage. To a roll bar that is made to msnz spec. And get it homologated? (In the Moke)

Or is welding to msnz roll bars not allowed?

Schedule A, 4.4 - 7 is the seat belt anchor part

I would go with, no welding. Go around the bar or the approved through the bar method

Awesome. Thanks. Will check that out.
been hunting for it in the manual.

I'm trying to stay away from full harness belts and proper race seats.
I know how important safety is. I’ve seen a fair few accidents through my dad’s racing and through a bit of marshalling myself.
But for something that is just going to be a motorkhana hack. I think the extra expense of replacement belts every 10 years, authority cards, Motorsport licences etc. Definitely puts a damper on having a road legal competition car.
I maybe do 2 or 3 autocross type events a year in my Mini (which the Moke is replacing) that actually require a proper scrutineering. I honestly can’t justify the extra expense. Not trying to cut corners. Just being realistic about my intentions for myself and the car.
Otherwise I’d have a car that costs me $300+ a year in fees that I drive maybe 5 times a year.

So a 3 point seatbelt and just getting the roll bar lvvta certed and built to msnz spec is probably the go.

That will cover me for clubsport basic events. Which is all this car is really going to do

If you are going to go through the cert process instead, have a look in the CCM page 14-43

It has the requirements for lap diagonal belt mounting to a roll bar structure

I'm pretty sure burning brake clean produces mustard gas?

I've used it in place of start ya bastard before, (on a 5hp briggs sidewalk motor, inside a garage) and felt decidedly unwell afterwards.

I also believe trike/1,1,1,trichloroethelene produces highly carcinogenic fumes when burnt too.

It's entirely likely that's what brake clean is? (Or maybe used to be?)

Crc brake clean has 2 types of xxx-chloro-xxx. I find it stings your cuts more than the wurth brake cleaner plus which is just straight hydrocarbons and evaporates clean.

I had a wee fuck around with the mighty 1szfe today.

Basically when it should come off the warm up/fast idle the idle surges wildly.

However, when I unplugged (what I believe to be the IACV/it's kinda obscured by the airbox, so I'm guessing) the idle dropped down to somewhere like it should be.

It also used to have an odd rattle when the throttle was cracked. (Like a weird noise kinda rattle, not a mechanical one)

Could I use these when the battery in my electric skateboard needs replacing replacing?

Reminds me of a battery order we made early 2000s where the China suppler asked what mAh rating we wanted printed on the side

Maybe, but not with the same charger (chrger V needs reducing by a smidgeon).

I don't know much about using them practically, I could get some for my electric scoot, I 'spose. Worth it for being less fire-prone, probably.

Slightly less energy dense than current LiPo / LiFePo

Hey @fletch

Why is smoke coming out of my hoist motor/ sometimes there's no smoke but a burning smell

still works fine

Brushes chooched?

hoist guy said to check capacitors in the box on the side for burn marks ect but nothing looks bad in there
