h4nd Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 Wild-arse guess here; but I see that your holes are vertical, and those are just above are in a horizontal band. Maybe possibly that's setting up a vortex to swirl/heat the air (and maybe diesel vapour) in a donut shape? Would love to see film of that one runnng please @AllTorque Quote

Its handy, but wouldnt bother if i didnt already have android auto running. 1 Quote
87creepin Posted September 19, 2024 Posted September 19, 2024 What’s involved with converting AC from r12 to hfc 134a? Is it quite pricey? Quote

Could be as much as 500$ depending how big the system is 1 Quote

I looked in to it briefly for my mx5, but decided against it since it has done one non-wof-shop trip in 3 years 1 Quote
kws Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 I was under the (misguided?) impression that the seals in an R12 system aren't compatible with 134a and will leak, and all need to be replaced with newer ones? Quote
Bling Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 I think @Spencer has commented about this in the past. Quote

I know when i put a new pump on my 70 series i cleaned stuff with white spirit A1 were quite happy to just feed r134a into an r12 system . They just feed some lubricant into the refrigerant while filling the system Quote

Bling Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 I'm hoping he will chime in when he's done sniffing his lawn. I feel like he replaced the seals but can't remember now. edit: looks like it was the o-rings, I guess because old and why not. 1 Quote
Bling Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Thread here with a few of the posts, was only going off memory but I think conversion is covered here  2 Quote

Bit late to leaf battery chat but this is my tactic. I got lucky and picked up a gen1 60% battery for about $400. Add $150 BMS and some tther bits and pieces and it's a very cheap 14kWh battery. 5 Quote
Doug Hill Posted September 20, 2024 Posted September 20, 2024 Can I do V2L/V2H on a ZE0 leaf, or do I need to rip the battery out and go that way? Quote
Bling Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 What do you need to power? Haven't done it myself but from what i've seen, if the car is "on" you can run an inverter off the 12V battery and it's charged by the main battery. If I got a bunch of power cuts i'd likely be doing that myself for critical appliances. 2 Quote
