ajg193
Goodrides I had in the past weren't even round, so there's that aspect too I'd say the #1 most important thing is the behaviour of the tyres in moist/wet conditions. Nothing worse than not being able to steer or stop safely when you really need to
cletus
Yeah that's the worst thing about china tyres, I have some cheap 265/30/19 on my falcon which are terrible in moist conditions

Maybe she was on her way to the ski fields..... for some mad offroading in her Volvo.

Roman
Dear people-who-know-things, Any advice on a valve spring removal tool? I've never done it before but I see there are a few tools that look easy to use but maybe they're shit and theres something better. Wanting to use for a 3SGE and 2NZ/1NZ and maybe some other Toyota heads for hopefully easy in and out. @Yowzer any thoughts?
Ashkellybarr
There’s a Honda tool on Ali express that can be made to work. Bolts where the cam caps go. been told a small amount of compressed air down the spark plug hole will help hold the values in with the head on too
kpr
I made this abortion to do 20v stem seals in place. then promptly modified it to fit 16v. double banger 2 springs at a time
ajg193
I've seen rope used in cylinder to hold valves up when air isn't available
Raizer
Rope worked better than air in my shitty old 4g63 when I did the stem seals. Was just lucky I had the piston at TDC and it caught the valve that wanted to drop lol
Roman
I remember on a forum ages ago a guy tried the rope thing, and it tied a knot in itself and he couldnt get it out haha. Eventually got it free but something to be wary of.

SOHC
9 hours ago, RUNAMUCK said: Is that because Mitsubishi rings/valve seats couldnt seal well.enough to hold the valve up? Yes the air goes right past the rings into the sump and then back up past the rings on the next cylinder and out the exhaust
RUNAMUCK
Linger, but when I helped @dirty_leppa do the valve seals on his/ @Brock-Lee old 910 wagon, when hooked the air line up to the plug fitting on number 4, and green wees starting coming out the radiator overflow. (Nothing a dose of chemiweld didnt fix) 1
