kyteler
I run semi's on my FD. Have been on there a while so far. Still have heaps of grip and tread life. Will happily pay a premium for decent grip.

Truenotch
@Testament runs R888's on his Fiat 124 and has done quite a few Ks on them. They'll blow away any road tyre in performance and will be fine for a weekend car. They can be a bit noisey, but otherwise are great.
NickJ
Ok cheers guys, I think the Datsun will get a short stay on stands while I scrape together some cash. As long as they aren't as loud as the mud tyres on the Niva, I think I can live with that
Beaver
Starter motors....the one in our non os car (2002 xtrail) seems to be playing up. Nothing happens when turning the key, but after I gave the starter a love tap it fired right up (for the last few days you could just try a few times and it would go). Brushes in the starter gumming up/worn out I'm thinking?
AllTorque
Yes, worn brushes. You will only get a few knock starts, so replace soon.
Beaver
Is replacing brushes still a thing or should I just get a new starter?
AllTorque
Yes you can replace the brushes. Get a whole brush holder not just the individual brushes.
Beaver
Choice Cheers for the advice @AllTorque auto electrician or just general mechanic spec job you reckon? Cbf'd dealing with that shit myself haha
AllTorque
Any old mechanic should be able to sort you out. @Yowzer ?
Yowzer
I usually outsource that stuff but they're easy as fuck. Just pull the end off and whip out the old pack, clean the whatever it's called the brushes run on with fine Emery tape and chuck in the new pack. Good to go.

oldrx7
Any one here running adjustable camber plates? Mine have developed a bit of play and it's slowly / gradually gotten worse and can be heard clanking while driving now. I'm gonna attempt to pull them apart myself, but before I do was just curious if anyone else has been there done that and if so, were replacement bearings / bushings easy to replace? Or do i just toss em in the bin and spend the $200-300 on new ones?

sheepers
so the T3 ones sometimes push the circlip out and the bearing moves in the housing. once that happens they're fucked, you gotta buy another top plate (T3 will sell you just the plate and not the whole assembly) but if its just the bearing fucked you can replace it without to much drama.
oldrx7
Cheers man, Guess i'll pull them out and apart and inspect whats what. Not sure what brand these ones are, have no markings or branding on them.
a.craw4d
Anyone got a link to the rules for building a trailer? Also, is this leaf spring setup legal here? Don't know if it would actually work very well but it ticks the low box I'm going for. Might go something along the lines of this but mounted higher to achieve more low. PS, I don't care if it drags on shit Edited April 10, 2019 by a.craw4d
