Yowzer
You can buy a 100A rectifier diode for like $10. Parallel stacking diodes doesn't work, they don't evenly share current so they fry themselves one at a time.

I didn't make them, but they are solid as fuuuuck. I'd trust them over the ones you buy with cast hooks. Would be keen to see some photos! Bling
One hook slides over the thread, the other is used for clamping. with a tube for spacing as required. Go pretty well, bolts might need replacing in 30 years or so, apart from that, all good.

chris r
Just usr a relay tbh. Diodes will have small drop in voltage across them which could potentially cause charging issues

There are 6 X 2V cells in a car battery. Xox

Where's the sweet spot of cheap/not shit? i have a set. have used lots with out failing. But the issue i have with them is that they have a quite fine thread on them, as a result they are slow and can be very hard to use when you dont have much room to swing a ratchet. a courser thread would be faster to compress making them easier to use. They are the double claw type but most of the time only one of the two is being used. mine also have 1/2 inch fitting so duga duga duga My 2c
Ghostchips
I struggle to imagine these handling 10 amps on their own https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10-Pcs-Active-Components-Diodes-10A10-Rectifier-Diode-10A-1000V-Charging-Diode-AMP-Silicone-Rectifiers/32841145533.html Wonder how long it would be until they pop? h4nd
They'll do 10A, but they'll run hot. Diodes are cheap, get big-uns.
SOHC
I got some new water pumps and they came with gaskets, I fitted the gasket with silicon on both sides but water is seeping through the gasket paper and coming out its edge. I thought this is really shitty, its .002" paper and seems to be the asbestos type
