Got this off

Needs fixing

Made a patch

Found a good way to make some rounded corners for the jack point cutout - my spot weld bit to the rescue again.

Ready to weld

All done - Only rust proof under coat I have is white and this bit is not seen once assembled so no point in completely cleaning up the welds.

Got into the bottom of the A pillar, I need to make it fill in the red line!

this is the foot well under the front of the floor, I think I will need to roll it over again and remove this right across to the other side and get a new one folded up. Luckily my old mate from school owns a sheet metal shop and can pretty much manufacture anything from sheet.

The new sill and guard seem to fit ok, but I will need to brace the door opening before I move it and check it hasn't opened up while sitting there. The red tape on the sill is about where I will cut it to match up with the new rear guard.

Well its been 4 months and no progress - life gets in the way!

Got a few hours this weekend and did this.

Tacked the new inner sill in

Over the break did another order to Germany and got these new inner wheel arches, at about 15 euro each I couldn't pass them up

Decided if was better to just use it for a repair section - a lot less work then unpicking the whole thing.

Ready to stick in - tacked up the top join but the original steel is so very thin I need to get some .6mm wire for the MIG before I go much further.

But at least some progress. It will be another month before I get another chance now  :(

Not much work has been done of this, busy modifying my MIG to have a "Spot Weld" mode (If successful I will start a seperate thread on that).

I did however install the remaining tinware and connected the fan so I could run it for longer and get it properly hot.

Here it is,

Runs sweet!

Go it home recently and thought it would be rude not to give it a start - only supplied a coil, stuck some fuel in and away it went!

Raw Fiat 650 big-block power - it seems to be a sweet runner and will make a nice upgrade from the 500 that I already have.

Its been 3.5 years or so, blame Covid lockdowns and Lazyiness.

In April 2020, loaded it up - so easy with a car this small - and hauled it off to another workshop with the intention of finally making some progress.
