Popular Post mo999
Its here! IMG_3535 Been a long time! IMG_3540 Gave it a cat scan IMG_3542 IMG_3544 It's actually better than I though it might be, always a problem buying something unseen. Went from this: IMG_3545 to this IMG_3555 Floor only rusted right at the outer edges
mo999
When from this: IMG_3556 To this, in only ten minutes IMG_3559 I like working on this! Engine appeared to be seized - so I took the head off for a look and found this IMG_3560 also a stuck valve IMG_3561 I managed to remove number 2 barrel ( right one in the picture ) and then eventuality free up the other on using a bit of force on the crank and a block of wood and a large hammer More pictures to follow.
mo999
I started to clean up some of bits from the engine and decided that I need to look into soda blasting to clean up this all alloy monster! Got these things; IMG_3572 Did this IMG_3573 Picked up this IMG_3581 Check out these before and afters, with the exception of the head - only about 30 - 60 seconds of blasting per item. IMG_3574 IMG_3576 IMG_3577 IMG_3578 IMG_3566 IMG_3580 Unfortunately it looks as though I need a new head - note the cracks between valve seats - but I really like this Soda blasting for cleaning aluminium!

mo999
I was struggling with my spot weld drill bit, The one IMG_4966-001 Saw this type on the tard IMG_4964-001 IMG_4963-001 Its really just a 9.5mm hole saw, best thing I have ever used. Does this, IMG_4967-001 So much easier as you cut around the weld not through it where it has been hardened by the welding process

IMG_4973-001 More rust IMG_4971-001 Opened the sill up, glad I have a replacement floor, inner and outer sill IMG_4975-001 This is what it should be like IMG_4976-001 IMG_4978-001 I think I will have to strengthen the shell before I cut any more away or it may fold in half! The inspector checked out the progress IMG_4979-001
