Popular Post Seedy Al
Went to wagnats Was fucking rad as predicted Vans now jacked up on axle stands with the front of the engine and sump coming off. Engine has had a bit of an odd noise for a while which I have put down to a combo of a timing chain rattle and Rockers needing adjusting, So have a full timing chain kit coming, At the same time, going to remove sump and clean any build up of crud, seeing as I bought a full gasket set from ozzy for fuck all. Today while pulling it apart I noticed there was a bit of crank thrust movement, so will also do the thrust bearings while I have the sump off, My guess is they will be like, $4.50 anyway. Other than that, just a generally tidy up for a 250km motor, new water pump, oil and filter, check plugs, new coolant, so in short, a hardcore service lol. Anyway pictureless updates are for amatures Rad, will Actually take some pictures of the engine tomorrow I guess, because thats heaps more fun right! Peace.

Seedy Al
Super boring update with no pictures. Have everything apart waiting for parts to turn up from ozzy. Just need to clean a few things and everything will be golden. Not going to do the thrusts as they are incorporated into the center crank bearing, and not worth pulling the crank out for for sure haha. Due to waiting for parts I decided to look into why it has been leaning ti the drivers side a bit. I thought it was old saggy springs. Turns out it was because the transverse leaf spring in the front had walked across toward the passenger side a bit. So got that all fixed today. I hope stuff turns up before weekend. Otherwise im going to have to commit to tinting the Windows which I have been putting off ages.
Seedy Al
So yeah, pulled this apart, replaced stuff, and put it back together. New Water pump, timing chain, sump cleaned and tappets reset. Did all this as I was chasing a noise I could hear in the engine. Would appear I have made it worse lol. However chain did need doing as it was a bit worn. Noise sounds like its in the top end somewhere, My guess is its tappet gap related, as adjusting them seems to have made it worse. Going to pull off the rocker shaft etc at some point soon and see how they look, possibly re-surface if required. So yeah, good time fun and stuff IMG_5455 by Allan Ainsworth, on Flickr Stuff
