Got my head back from Glenn this morning. Went over for cnc machining, new oversize valves, springs, clearanceing for the enormous cam etc. looking forward to getting the engine built up.

Picked up another engine and box from chch today too so I can wire up and get a standard engine going to check the new fuel and oil systems are working correctly before dropping in the expensive one.

Did some work on the front wheel tub today. Had done it previously but then it needed a bash further back so ended up a bit shit. Decided to cut some more out and reweld it.

Here it is compared to the other side I haven't done yet.

This wee bit here was one of the more difficult things I've had to do during this.

It's in the boot on top of the wheel tub sealing against the outer quarter panel. There's one on the other side too.

But it firewalls the boot over the tub and will prevent me having to fill all the holes up the c pillar , in the back of this photo

and also won't need to seal off the area between the door and wheel tub inside the car so should save a bit of weight.

Finalised my rear brakes the other day. I originally got some 2 pot AP callipers to suit a solid rotor as I had rotors already from an Audi 80 that were going to be ok but they turned out to be too small in diameter for the calliper so after exploring all sorts of options I was going to have to go to 2 piece rotors. Because i was going to the trouble of 2 piece rotors I decided to change the callipers to suit vented rotors.

Have settled on these ap 2 pots to suit a 280x17 rotor.

Needed to draw up some things for the sway bar and brake mounts and bells but the graphics card in my iMac with autocad on it has decided to pack it in so had to dig out the old drawing utensils.

Old school.

Found some Halliday racing wheels in 15x10 that I might buy. Looks sweet. Fronts might have to be taken back to 9s because I have to space them 10mm to clear the brake calliper which means the tyre probably won't tuck under the arch.

Been doing a bit of welding finishing things up. Got passenger seat harness plates in for a potential passenger. Welded up a few trim holes and other bits and pieces.

Got from guards welded on now and the bubble arches bolted up. Want bolt on for ease of replacement if they brake/ get broken during racing.

Arse end needs to be raised a bit and going to have to modify the tension strut kit in the front some more to pull the wheels forward in the arch then trim the arch to clear the wheels. Otherwise fronts will have to go back to 9s.

Got the radiator in today. Made the brackets out of 1mm alloy and just used some rivnuts to bolt it in place.

They follow the shape of the front of the car so box the sides nicely. Just need a bit along the top and it should be good.
