Marsh
Hi all, just took my 323 for a WOF and have been told my rear spring plate? (mounting plates that the shockie bolts to) are wrong for the diff that's in it. I have no clue what the diff is from, is there anywhere that sells them, or an easy way to find the right ones? Marsh
Its not easy to get a good photo now its off the hoist. Main issue is that the U bolts aren't straight up and down I'm thinking its either RX3 or B1600 rear end but have no way to confirm
cletus
is the problem that the u bolts are on the piss? or does it not fit in some other way? straightening the u bolts is easy enough, loosen them off, get a f clamp and clamp the bolts together til they are straight, do them up again. sometimes you can do it by hand or with a hammer, just tap them straight then re tighten
My name is Russell
Is it from your bump stops being removed? reduced the seating diameter of the U bolts and meant they can sit on an angle?
Beaver
Is it from your bump stops being removed? reduced the seating diameter of the U bolts and meant they can sit on an angle? This. Usually the bump stop plate will align the u-bolts as well.
HighLUX
Yeah mazda diffs usually have grooves each side of the bumpstop to help keep the u bolts straight
Marsh
Bump stops have been removed aswell, not by me though. Will refit and try that first. Sounds like a bloody easy fix. Yeap problem is the U bolt on the angles
Marsh
This photo might make it clearer, U bolts are sitting in the factory bump stops. Im going to try slot them out but I need 15mm or so. Other bet is to go to the wreckers and have a hunt unless anyone has an idea/set of what the're meant to be
Bling
Not on the wrong sides are they? Left to right.
cletus
looks like it is meant to have a different type of spring plate, wider spacing with a spring isolator
Marsh
Otherside has the same spacing just shockie mount is on the opposite side That could be the go, any clue what they come in??...
bogangeof
Just loosen, realign and tighten. I have the same lower mounts in my 323, im also not running the rubber bit around the leaf spring.
bogangeof
Actually by the looks of it change them the the opposite side and turn them so the shock sits correctly.
