So .. I've been mega slack at putting up anything to do with my own cars...

The current project that is in most pieces and getting serious work done is my rare 1977 Toyota Celica GTV LB (liftback)

The story so far.......

This was as purchased by my father many years ago. It was used as a service vehicle for my other 1977 Celica GT rally car.

Dad always had issues with the engine timing and it never ran right. It was put in dry storage for many years until i decided i needed yet another project and brought it off him. First thing I did was found the engine was rather rooted and untuneable so over christmas i pulled the old 18RG and dropped an unknown spare we had purchased into the hole.

Tidied it up while i was in there :)

With a bit of messing about with carbs and tuning, it was running sweeter than ever.

I have never liked tridents as mag wheels so swapped them out for a set of Bridgestone Zona -Spoke10 wheels i had around. I thought was a nice improvement.

Also lowered it a little onto king superlow springs ..

All was good for a year and a half until disaster struck

On my way to visit sheepers one night, a van backed into the front of it and bending it :(

Thankfully not a write-off and the it got fixed up reasonably straight. . .

Looking at the condition of the car after the crash, being daily driven had taken its toll and it really needed some serious body work soon.

Initially i was going to fix it bit by bit and try to keep it on the road, so the rear hatch and roof area had the worst rust and this was cut out a repaired.

Small update - I have been furiously cleaning, polishing, and painting parts to go back on it.

one example..... i'm quite happy with the way the tail lights came out after spending 2 days cleaning, masking and painting them.
