You tell lies! You're a baggy wearer are you not? But if you do have Lycra then please wear it along to prove me wrong. But dont let them Tapawara folk see you or they'll make you scream like a pig.....

Early birthday present - baggies will still work for when I'm in mixed company...

Looking forward to tomorrows run. Looks like we might be getting a good few cars along. Paul- is your Laser all good to go on a long run because this would be a nice run in type drive.

Great news!

Next meet after tomorrows Tapawara run will be to head up to the Nelson car club rally sprint up near Pigeon vally off from Wakefield. We plan to find a place somewhere out on the course, in the sun, and cheer the cars on. Maybe some small Mexican waves. Hopefully a good location will be found where we can get a bbq going and have some beers whilst fast cars race by peppering us all with gravel and dust to the smell of castrol. Speaking for myself but this sounds idyllic :-)

I have spoken to one fella from the club and hopefully they'll be getting a key for an access road halfway up so we can head in there. More details can be found here..

Thanks again everyone!

Excellent roads for an excellent day! Since my car is on shed guard duty I was the car slut of the day and jumped into almost every car there.

I loved the fact that out of the 8 cars we had along today, we didn't have a manufacturer double up. (I included Will's shuttle but he was kind enough to park it well away so he didn't steal the show)

It was indeed a really awesome meet today. Seriously really good. Thanks to those that came along and thanks to those that made the roads we drove on. The westbank road is always a fun road and was great today. I too played car slut and got to drive Tonys Fiat x19 which was fantastic. Such a sweet handling luttle car and way more refined than I ever remember having last driven one in 1994 before buying SC mr2. Then I experienced Dylans Humber. Wow. What can I say....

I don't know actually... ummm...

Did you know it has picnic tables that fold down off the rear seats?

Needs a steering rack conversion.

Then I drove Jases Porsche 924 Turbo. Yeah man. Feels so solidly put together and nice handling.

Sadly I missed the chance to drive the car of the day...Wills shuttle. Maybe next time if Im lucky. Looking forward to it.

Once my steam powered internet connection heats up I'll load up a really exciting video of some cars going into a picnic area. Because that's how we roll down here.

Ha - the Shuttle is so special it got mentioned twice without being featured in a photo - it also lugged me and 3 old folk up to the top of the Barnicoat range early afternoon.

Cheers for the organisation guys - was cool to see a new road that is deserving of a revisit in something more deserving!

So the next meet is to meet up and watch Nelson car club rally sprint up near Pigeon vally off from Wakefield. We plan to find a place somewhere out on the course, in the sun, and cheer the cars on. I have spoken to one fella from the club and hopefully they'll be getting a key for an access road halfway up so we can head in there. We checked out the course last weekend and couldn't find a place to park along it but at the top there is a great big area. I will find out soon whether they get a key to access this area so we can come and leave as we want. Otherwise we are going to have to park up at the finish line and walk up to a decent viewing point.  Any ideas/advice are welcome. Please tell us if you plan on coming along so we can get an idea on numbers of cars in case I need to ask about access to the top.
