Mof
There are/were some long side windows on TM they would look kinda cool
Raizer
Long side windows are most likely from an estate and normally look shit in vans lol A few dealers here fitted them to new panel vans back in the day.
bmxnz11
They tried every window possible. long single estate, two rectangular ones, single rear bubble one and single rear rectangular one. IMO they all looked
The Dude
Nice van, and some nice looking work your doing. Panel in the windows, they look so much better

IMO they all looked Yeah the bubble window was the only factory one though from the Aussie vans, the rest were "dealer options". I've scrapped at least 4 vans over the years and none have had side windows the same size as the others haha Have even seen one that Wairoa Ford had fitted a single rectangular window in the middle of the panel sections which looked real screwed up!
browndog
holy shitballs Batman, that is some serious rust repairs going on! Nice work!! The random side windows seemed to be a NZ thing, I am not sure if the dealers cut out the panel and fitted them, or if they were done at the assembly plant in Lower Hutt. The Transit vans that were built around the same time had exactly the same thing going on, nearly always had a window fitted in the side loading door on the LH side, and then randomly fitted side windows. A friend of mine has a Mk2 Tranny that had 2 windows on the LH side, and none on the right!!! Has since panelled over the LH side ones. Pretty sure the bubble windows were only factory fitted to the Sundowner. A few of those made it over here, I wonder how many survivied? Becoming quite sought after in OZ now. Fitted with 1.6 or 2.0 OHC, full headlining, high back bucket seats, plus those very boy-racer stripes!

Bought it end of last year. The sills, A pillars and floors rusted right through. Underseal sprayed everywhere in the engine bay. Real mess that one. Did everyone a favour taking it off the road

Mof
Panel work is fantastic! I like the flares like that, not too over the top like bubble arches (no offence BD lol) and looks more factory-ish or professional than rolling them

I know the bubble arches aren't to eveyones taste, but I am okay with that:) And yes, they do look really good when done like the ones here, gives it a real "factory" look
bmxnz11
Nothing wrong with bubble arches, just means you have to go the whole nine yards with wheels and the front guards. Only doing it this way to match the fronts. The fronts which I don't plan on touching (fingers crossed I can get some bigish wheels under them/probably have to go to a smaller tyre). Plus my van wont be quick enough to warrant the look of bubble arches
Mof
Hey man coming along real nice there Like the widened rostyles, are you going to roll with those?
bmxnz11
Cheers man, trying to get into it most days to get stuff moving. Im hoping to use the rostyles,if not then my hotwires. The only problem being the hotwires have near zero offset which works but the rostyles have an offset of +4 or there abouts so stick out a little more. Flares help with that problem. Will muck around with tyre and suspension combos later when its rolling as i have few options. Did your van never have windows put in?
_esKYmo_
Looking like the way to go removing side windows looks better already. I needa start a project page on my mk2 panelvan... nowhere near as skilled as you but would love to remove my side windows too... keeping a keen eye on your project. Will end up just being jealous tho lol
Mof
Na, panels still intact from factory Lucky as I'm now the 14th owner! what a slut! Dished rostyles are cool, I haven't decided what to use yet, so if they are for sale in the future...
