Mof
It's a Mitsubishi unit, which used to put the charge light on until you give it a rev. Now I got 12v at the terminal
Adoom
Why have you run a separate earth lead all the way from the back to the front of the car and not just earthed it on the body? Is it something to do with your 'hiding wiring and pipes in the engine bay'?
tortron
Car bodies are actually really shit at carrying electrons despite being metal
RUNAMUCK
The tortoise is dead right. Cars with no decent earth cable to.the motor will have a slow crank. Which is bad for the starter.
Mof
There's a heavy earth cable from battery to body, then a slightly lighter cable from there to engine, then another from engine to body.
RUNAMUCK
Should be meatiest cable battery to motor/box, and a less beefy bonding cable from.motor to body. Nothing draws more.current than the starter.motor.
Mof
I know, but cable is so damn expensive. So the load is being shared between cable and body. Positive is heavier of course between battery and starter.

Mof
It was a wheel cylinder. Must have had a little bit of water in it and it pitted out and was unsaveable. Changed wheel cyls both sides, and new brake shoes. Was all spongey pedal last night, bled the fronts again and got some air, but didn't improve much. Left a bar on the brake pedal overnight and they came up good as this morning.
