So now im based in Christchurch thought it would be a good idea to purchase some wheels.

After trawling through what seemed to be 1000's of subaru's and over priced escorts, this gem of a tina popped up!

Please excuse the quality! Shes a 73 pre facelift 1.6 X-Flow with the 3 speed auto bow which is lush (its had a complete overhaul). Shes a smooth ride but has a few niggles ie small bits of rust about the size of $2 coins dotted around but is no biggy at all. Regd and WOFd till last half of the year.

Plans:

Sheepskin and granny blanket

Polish Hotwires

Suss the rust

Install my GT/GXL gauges and centre console

Fit MK4/5 power steering rack

That is all for now, will get more pictures when i can. Enjoy!

The old girls been putting along and the little 1600 Kent moves her very nicely, even made the trip from CHCH to Palmy over the Christmas break without a hitch, I recently had to do the head gasket as it popped and was making massey ferguson noises all over Wellington CBD. Ive also rebuilt the starter motor.

Not too much has been happening with the old girl lately. Shes currently being driving daily by the Mrs residing in Wellington while im down in Chch.

Popped its head gasket last December which was an easy fix and has been reasonably trouble free apart from the started motor crapping out, most of the rust has been done aswell.

Wow nearly a year with no updates! The Tina has made 3 successful trips form Chch to Palmy without a hitchand has been a great daily for the passed year, so pretty stoked all round.

Seeing as i couldnt make it up to Nats i decided to give it a fang out to Akaroa, coped well in the turns but really lacks power up the hills (1600 X-flow auto, huhuhuhuh). Had to stop and get at least one pic...

Plans for this have culminated to putting a Rover alloy v8 in with a w series box, 6cyl aussie diff with coon lsd, 14x8.5 and 14x7 wards, cortina 2000e interior, power steering and a facelift mk3/4/5 front subframe.

Stay tuned...

Finally made it to my first Chch O/S meet since moving down 3 years ago, cheers boys for the welcome and good yarns!

Did a little line up post meet at Lyttleton with h4nd, NickJ and Ben_10, pretty swish colour palette if you ask me!

Also pulled out my GT clusters from the shed as i need to fix the printed circuit boards as the adhesive has buggered out and the circuit is frayed. Any recommendations on how to fix it up as im stumped!

How did you get on with repairing your circuit? I make reproduction circuits for the Falcon range, HK Holden and currently working on Ford Torino.  If you can send me your circuit I can work on the reproduction.

Here is an example, this if for ZF & ZG Fairlane:

Damn i havent updated this in way too long.

Long story short, the X-flow dropped its oil on my way to work about a year and a half ago. Bang, rod out the side... Threw in a Pinto, didnt measure the starter throw out and chewed the starter so it sat for a while. Pulled the pinto out and its now living in @d.p.n.s MK5.

Few plans for the mean time involving an EFI V6, ITBs, T5 gearbox, and maybe an SC14....

And of course a post isnt good without a photo

Finally found a hub and bearing combo to convert Cortina MK3-5 and Escort non RS stubs to 5 stud! Early Valiant hubs and bearings (RV1 SV1 AP5 AP6 VC VE VF VG CH CJ) I got a set of VF hubs. Bearing seal will have to be bored out to accept the cortina seal (53.5mm to 55mm) and hubs redrilled to 5x114.3 from 5x101.6

I'll post up more once I find a disk and caliper combo that works. Thinking RX7 rotors and calipers as I've got a set in the garage or Altezza...

Hub height - 55mm  Caliper bolt spacing 82.5mm

RX7 FC - Disk height 65mm, 276mm OD, Caliper bolt spacing 160mm, Pad size 107x68x14mm, 4 pot alloy

Altezza - Disk height 48mm, 275 OD, Caliper bolt spacing 123mm, Pad size 144x64x17mm, 2 pot slider alloy

Will have to test both but slightly leaning more to the altezza as they cost nothing and bigger pad.

In other news hopefully finally getting the V6 down from @fletch place with the help of @JustHarry so she should have a hunk of metal and a gearbox sitting in the bay by next week.
