Vintage Grumble
Test the vacuum pots and shit also, they shit themselves all the time. But yea you need to clean it out and set the float properly then go from there I guess. I have cleaned it out and set the float, all that seems sweet. The vac pots all seem to work also. Will see how it handles off roading tonight and go from there. Its never given any problems in day to day driving, so something about the angles/hi revs/load/vibration is up setting it. Vintage Grumble
OH MY. WOW. Runs absolutely perfectly now, not even a hint of hesitation or a splutter or anything. Can crawl up steep ass hills at 1500rpm now. It even starts and runs better, and hopefully uses less gas. So fucking stoked.
Vintage Grumble
Went 4WD'in. It did pretty fucken well for itself. So much more fun, now that it runs better. Found celsius squirrel in the forest, so made him a shrine. How is that so slammed?? Regards, VG.
DB8-TypeR
Have you seen the grey one that is often between Kawerau and Whakatane? Seen it three times in the last 2 weeks
Vintage Grumble
Yep, that's the one I had lined up to buy, but the old guy kept saying he hadn't found a suitable replacement for it. There used to be a camo one in Kawerau also.
Bombsquad
There used to be a camo one in Kawerau also. Hahaha having worked in Kawarau and knowing how hood the whole town is (we had 200 litres of diesel stolen the first night we were there) the thought of a camo wagon pulling up to the shops pleases me greatly
Vintage Grumble
So, you have probably been asking yourself, "I wonder what the Tercel has been up to lately?" Well, its done a few things. Took a piano for a drive: Did a bit of forestry work: Did a bit of flying: Went to/in the lake a few time: Along with a sprinkling of off roading, driving me to work everyday, and a spot of rally. But alas, its time for it to go, so //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/45130-fs-1988-toyota-tercel-sr5-whakatane/ Regards, VG.

Vintage Grumble
I'm appalled that you're insinuating this vehicle can only obtain warrant of fitness standard from a below par premises! WOF corner in Taneatua.

Willdat?
Did you sell the wheels/tyres with it? I'm keen on acquiring some, but I'm suspicious they'll more than double what I have invested in my Beagle...
Vintage Grumble
Yep. I talked the guy into taking it with the wheels/tyres on it, because i'm lazy. It was back on TM about 6 months ago, be interesting to know where it went.

I'm already a member and you might notice I have the same username here that I do there. Check it out. I hope to see a pic of a DLX model for NZ with a pic of its manufacturers plate. I am trying to locate, though as I said before, someone in NZ who owns any of the market-specific model-specific sales and accessories brochures for NZ of these cars. If you know of anyone who might, please hit me up soon. I am also a big Hobbit fan since that also took place in New Zealand haha. Best Regards @terceldude https://photos.app.goo.gl/MBY81UZp6TmNbJya9 Here is a NZ new one that I spotted this year. The owner is local and has had it from new, her grandchildren go to the same school as my kids. If I see her around I'll ask her on your behalf.

Ive never seen another since I sold this one, they are pretty rare in NZ now I guess, and I don't know where to find info on the NZ ones. I can't even remember if mine was NZ new or a Jap import tbh. Hi VG, your Tercel is NZ new https://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=np3201 Glad to see someone so enthusiastic about these fine vehicles 1
ajg193
Pretty sure we didn't get NZ new Tercels/Caribs. That one up above may have just been an early import? Edit, looks like there was actually one model on offer in NZ https://www.redbook.co.nz/vehicle/specs.php?id=42111
