ryanfels
I remember this car from a build thread somewhere back in day, cant for the life of me remember where though Cool project though!!!
4AG_Addict
My brother and I had this thing a few years back, got it with the 4efte already mounted but barely running.Tidied it up, caged it & got it a lot more finished. Did a few trackdays with it, was such a fun car. Sold it to a dude in Nelson who was going to Rally it I thought.
Looseunit
Yep car came from Nelson. I hacked around in it in the backroads a few times before i took it apart. Was fun to drive and went pretty quick for a stock 4efte. The setup was ok for the power it had but was never going to be suitable for an extra 150-200kw

HighLUX
Is the bellhousing some sorta cut and weld hybrid dealio?
advokit
Holy crap.... This thing is going to be mucho rapido. Do you have the same water line issues in those engines as with the FWD 4age?
Looseunit
I assume so, flip it around and everythings at the back. Theyre not really a rwd friendly engine so ive had to make pretty much everything. And yep bellhousing is a chop and weld deal

4AGEMAD
Sweet build man, without the flares how far do the wheels stick out from the body with the t series?
Looseunit
Ive taken the flares off, liked how it looked without them better. The wheels didnt actually stick out with the t series but the guards have been flared a bit. Id say they would have been about flush with stock guards. 4AGEMAD
I shouldve asked first, what width/offset wheels are you running?
Looseunit
The minilites came with the car, they only 14x6 never looked at the offset. Ive got the drag radials on some fwd offset volk rims, the drag tires are pretty wide but that combo with the hilux diff fits pretty much perfectly. ill probably run the minlites on the front until i can decide what I want. 4AGEMAD
Thats not to bad, im trying to get an idea of what it will be like with my new t series & whether ill need flares or im able to pump the guards out, ive got a set of 14 x 6 15p advans so will see how they turn out
kpr
Hope to get it finished in the next 2-3 months and then get it tuned etc. Then ill hope to get it to some sort of test day to get used to driving the thing. bring it to my place., we can test & tune in the paddock. Looseunit
bring it to my place., we can test & tune in the paddock. Paddock Dyno? Well at this stage ill have to be bringing it up to meremere for any chance at a test and tune anyway.
Dell'orto
Fuck, that's shithouse re: head - salvagable I take it?
Looseunit
Yeah its all fixed just cost a heap more than i budgeted for. By sheer sheer luck when they took all the measurements for the new pistons they measured on the low side, so I still have the compression that I specified. I also had to add an adjustable cam gear into the mix as when they straightened the head it messed up the cam timing. Its pretty much all done, am going up next week to pick it up. kpr
should be worth having a play with that adjustable pulley on the dyno, when you go chasing all the power
