Seedy Al
OI would recommend my old work at custom works. They can do the work no problem and can do the pump timing also. Wierd that timing mark isnt correct on crank. But would be pretty easy to remark once head is off with a dail gauge on top of piston. We could probably pull the head without to much hassel But then setting timing etc might be a ball after its back together. Head work would be a skim on the surface. Recut valves and replace any suspect ones, and fit new valve stem seals through out. My guess is its the 3 front valves that are the issue with that broken cam

Seedy Al
I would recommend booking it in sooner than later if need be. They are usually pretty busy. Nats or bust.

RUNAMUCK
Aside from replacing all the valve stem seals, you might get away with just lapping in some new valves to replace any bent ones. The thing to check is that sometimes valve to piston interference can split the valve guide insert. But it taint nothing to check. My brother once had a cam belt snap on a yucky 1500 12 valve civic. We just threw away the four bent zhorst valves, threw in four new ones lapped the lot, and banged in new guide steals. Chucked it back togther and profit. Seedy Al
It can be a bit hit and miss with valve seats sometimes but I suspect in this case just cutting the none fucked valves will be sweet. Tho diesel do have some tight tolerances. Like my mum etc
cletus
might pay to check the crank pulley hasn't moved on the crank- sheared the keyway or similar if it locked up or when the valves hit stuff and broke the cam it may have tweaked things down below? Seedy Al
Good shit mate. Glad you are happy with the outcome, given the messing around getting there
cletus
Diesels dont need much muffling for some reason. I made a 2.5 " for my old surf and one hot dog was all it needed
Nominal
The turbo kills most of the exhaust noise.

Beaver
Living in the fast lane from now mate. Shit its a hoot to drive. Couple of things to sort out this weekend (list is for me to remember) Get some heater hose and plumb in heater Add fitting (and by fitting I mean a piece of pipe) to intake pipe and run breather pipe into intake to stop stank getting into car Sort out boot alignment. It doesn't shut properly and squeaks like a motherfucker Drive it some more

Beaver
Why add mufflers when you can remove mufflers.
Beaver
It only has one. So removing it and replacing with pipe sounds like a much better idea.
