Just in case you were feeling like doing something ridiculous like the above, I have a pretty lumpy A15 cam with a (big) bit of valvebounce damage to the lobes.

It has no real value. if you fit is to this engine, you own it.

rofl. anything too revvy and you'll hate using this thing. you ideally want the lowest revving, torquiest donk you can find = long stroke. don' tthink an a series will provide you with that! if you're looking at doing any work with it you'll be over that fairly quickly but it'll still be fun to punt round on.

Thanks Cam, I had kind of done the maths and come to this conclusion too.

Although this thing is tiny and the A15 was free. If it sucks I can start over.

I'm not going to be using it in a heavy mining situation. maybe grade my drive every weekend and punt about.

Personally ditch that lame a series for a flathead v8 any day of the week ! Who cares if the a series makes more hp! It's from a Datsun and that's lame alongside a flathead ! Do it ! A couple of strombergs sitting above a flattie with 4 zoomie pipes hanging out each side and you will be onto a winner !

The Van motor will have a nice heavy flywheel too. If the OG motor rocked 18hp, the A15 will fuck shit up to the days. three times the HP.

Nahhhhhhhh. Cam has it all wrong. what does he know eh?  what you need to do is paint the dozer bright yellow and then fit this engine...
