Steelies Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 fingers crossed for video if it running with the rain-can on, jangling like a stack cap 4 Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Also get Rawb to spin you up a completely ridiculous cam so it idles like a tractor.. Oh wait... Just in case you were feeling like doing something ridiculous like the above, I have a pretty lumpy A15 cam with a (big) bit of valvebounce damage to the lobes. It has no real value. if you fit is to this engine, you own it. Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Also, I found 55% of those parts at mums tonight. After I finish my beer, I'll check my woodshed for the other part. 1 Quote
Valiant Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 Hot cam, thanks but no thanks. Cheers for tracking the other %55 down. Quote
KKtrips Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Hot cam, thanks but no thanks. Dislike. Quote
CaMpylobacter Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 rofl. anything too revvy and you'll hate using this thing. you ideally want the lowest revving, torquiest donk you can find = long stroke. don' tthink an a series will provide you with that! if you're looking at doing any work with it you'll be over that fairly quickly but it'll still be fun to punt round on. RUNAMUCK Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Needs moar supercharger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 Quote
Valiant Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 Fuuuuuu. Needs more going! Thanks Cam, I had kind of done the maths and come to this conclusion too. Although this thing is tiny and the A15 was free. If it sucks I can start over. I'm not going to be using it in a heavy mining situation. maybe grade my drive every weekend and punt about. 1 Quote
Valiant Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 A few Oliver specs here. http://www.tractordata.com/farm-tractors/001/7/9/1798-cletrac-hg-dimensions.html 1 Quote

Chris.QCR Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Personally ditch that lame a series for a flathead v8 any day of the week ! Who cares if the a series makes more hp! It's from a Datsun and that's lame alongside a flathead ! Do it ! A couple of strombergs sitting above a flattie with 4 zoomie pipes hanging out each side and you will be onto a winner ! 3 Quote
Valiant Posted September 19, 2013 Author Posted September 19, 2013 Hahaha. If I can make it move under it's own power I think I'll be onto a winner. Takes 383 out of AP5...... 1 Quote
CaMpylobacter Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 shit yeah a series will probably be weet for what you're doing then. I guess if you were trying to be this guy then you'd have bought a bigger dozer anyways. grumpy flathead would be so lush. 1 Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 The Van motor will have a nice heavy flywheel too. If the OG motor rocked 18hp, the A15 will fuck shit up to the days. three times the HP. Three times the FUN! 1 Quote
Valiant Posted September 20, 2013 Author Posted September 20, 2013 Yep, that's the conclusion I made too. At low RPM it should be about perfect. I hope. Quote

Nahhhhhhhh. Cam has it all wrong. what does he know eh? what you need to do is paint the dozer bright yellow and then fit this engine... 5 Quote
