Just thought I'd start a build of my starlet/s
So I brought this starlet
Had a 4age red top t50
Was told just needed driveshaft loop for cert
On way home. Gearbox blew up
Found out it was cause the previous owner put the wrong shims in the gearbox and leaked all the oil.
A week after putting new gearbox in Head gasket blew

This poto was on the way home from Auckland. Note the tow rope.

And I don't have any of after as it is now. But here is one of putting in together

Once together it went very well

But unfortunately I cannot get it correctly tuned as the ecu isn't wired in properly :(

So for this next bit I don't have any photos sorry

So I took it for a warrant cert and it failed on diff had rubbed hole in exhuast

Steering rack ends.

And other silly things like horn.

As I was fixing these up I found rust. The more I looked. The more rust I found. And I had already done I little dodgy fiberglass repair.

I wasnt sure what to do about it as I'm not the best at welding and couldn't be bother painting it(even though I'm a painter)

One morning driving to work I went a bit fast round a round about and slid it out. Hit the curbed snapped an axle and bent my mag :(

This is when I decided imay as well start all over again.

I sold the 4k and box out of my other starlet and started stripping it out for paint.

My plan is to get this shell done and swap everything over.

I plan to put itbs on my engine. Which I have. And a link g1 which I also have acquired along with a loom for a 4agze.

So haven't done much as waiting on my pedal box and I sand all week at work so not what I want to do in the weekend

So today I tackled an old problem

I have 3 bonnets and none fit. They all sit to far back and rub on my water drain bit

So took the hinges out and what do you know. They don't match

http://i.imgur.com/7owqMTv.jpg[/img

So going to cut and weld them to make them longer

New angle

Weld weld weld

What weld?

And what do you know. They now match!

Wasn't as hard to do as I thought either

Well. Today was much like Christmas

Got my pedal box

nHVne0H.jpg

And got my rocker covers painted at work

There really sparkly and more purple than pink. Haa

hYwSqSF.jpg

So now my challenge is to mount pedal. Box.

Anyone have any ideas or where I could buy some metal? I generally use scrap that's lying around but need good stuff :/

So today I started making a mount for my pedal box

VDSeY0T.jpg

But it's actually really hard to do.

I stopped after this as I relished I needed to do some design work and plan it out.

My goal I'd for it too look like kpr's one and also use it as a steering mount

gd7OBf8.jpg

If anyone could help me out in any way. Would be choice

I'm not sure how to choose where to mount the box and how to work out all the different lengths etc

Interior is all painted nice black

T5kGVxy.jpg

And installed my pedal box

7BQ9k4D.jpg

And there's a brace that goes along the roof. That's same color as cars going

66yobG2.jpg

Also brought a remote thermostat housing so wire wheeled that (and my fingers) to get rid of rust and smashed some paint on it

EQCKkHx.jpg

Also looking at buying some adjusties for the rear off techno toy tuning. For around $700

There a direct bolt it. If anyone has and cheaper ideas or feedback on these could you let me know?

Been playing around setting up me pedal box and everything around it. My clutch pedal hit against the steering mount on the fire wall

So hello grinder

WT2ZZfb.jpg

And it goes down now. Very tight fit though

EdbNMRY.jpg

Also when I got sick of looking at pedals I got my diff looking like new.

I've put my crossmember in and chucked in some old bugged shocks on cuties up front to make it mobile till I get my new adjusties!
