Ned
So since i sold the Lada, i want to build a slam trailer. Here's a sketchup drawing of what i want to build.... So don't get too excited! as i may or may not actually build this/finish it... though i have stub axles, hubs, coupling and lights in the mail so just need some wheels, steel and guards and i'm good to go...

Ned
Please keep excitement levels low at this point!
KKtrips
why not just buy mine?
flyingbrick
I would add a bit of rhs that goes from the stub down toward the middle of the tray/ deck at like 45 deg so it don't take up too much space. Prob not needed but I'm a paranoid person
alfalfa
Unsprung?
Seedy Al
why not just buy mine? this
KKtrips
How much weight do you expect to put on it? I am guessing 2 motorbikes at most which is all of 300kg MAX? Who cares if it's unsprung or doesn't have 45 degree brackets supporting the stub axle..
Seedy Al
haha I wouldnt worry about it uless he planss on carrying massive weight. Whats th worst that can happen, added camber? What a shame
Ned
Don't want to add 45s as then it won't fit a full sheet width wise. That's 50x50x5, so not going g anywhere with a few velo bikes on it! And unsprung, yes
Ned
And don't want kks as it has that giant beam... Rather build my own for the hell of it though I do like yours kk!
Rookie
Ned you realise that if you spent as much time on actually building it as you did on that sketch up it would almost be done?
MRWEST
unsprung is sweet..mates got a bike trailer unsprung we tow it around no trouble..bit bouncy but when you low gotta make compromises!!!
Ned
Yes Dave, but I can do sketch up during work hours, can't build a trailer during work hours. And this way I could try a few different ideas, sizes before deciding what I would want. You guys recon that middle beam length wise is needed? Lots of trailers I've seen only have the ones going width wise....
Rookie
No, you don't need an axle, the stubs done like you have will be fine.

Seedy Al
nah you dont need middle beam mate is that 50x50 box?
My name is Russell
Priced this thing up?
Ned
Yeah, 50x50x3 for the main bits and 5mm for the arm and stub axle holders. About 1k2 to do it the easy way... Will be cheaper though... I didn't draw any of the parts. Got hitch wheels stub axles and decking from the web. Only 4 hours of drawing in there
