vivaspeed Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 In case anybody wants to say something about my No.2 Viva...//oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/33889-vivaspeeds-no2-viva-1967-hb-sl90/ Quote
mekemelorry Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I think you will find vacuum tubes in that radio.. Quote
crazytim Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Well, seeing how owning multiple of the same type of car seems acceptable around here, I thought I'd start a project thread on my latest acquisition. Completely normal to own several variants of the same car- anyone who tells you it isn't is LYING! : ) Love the Vauxhallness of your posts, subscribed! 1 Quote
nzvohc Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Nice cars you have there. Was the SL90 a Nelson car up until recently? Think I saw it come and go pretty rapidly on TM recently. Quote
vivaspeed Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Yeah it was ex-Nelson area two owners ago - one family since 1973 or something crazy. I got it off a guy up north. I picked it up as soon as it went on TM. Have been looking for a tidy road going one for ages and they all disappear pretty quick so jumped on this one. Quote
Nominal Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Nice looking Viva. I didn't know that they did high spec models. With stripes even! Quote
michaelme Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 loving the go-fast stripes nice wee beast Quote
vivaspeed Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 haha, technically they are called zoom-stripes. They are a copy of the Brabham Viva stripes. This add is LOL Quote
Shaz Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Did anyone else say "Brabham Viva" three times? Sweet score! Quote
vivaspeed Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 With all those extras, this mighty 1.0 litre made exactly 1 hp more than a Holden Starfire motor Quote
flyingbrick Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 With all those extras, this mighty 1.0 litre made exactly 1 hp more than a Holden Starfire motor yes but this motor is red Quote
Snoozin Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Zoom-stripes! That's freakin' perfect. How else could a car be so exciting. Quote
yoeddynz Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Wow! I have missed this thread. So cool. What a score. Yep- this was in Nelson, then some young fellas from Chch bought it cheap thinking to make a quick buck, then it headed north. I'm glad it's found a good home! Very rare car. Those ward alloys came up sweet. Quote
77magnum13hundy Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 tidy car man, so the race car is going then? choice one Quote
Steelies Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 wow, dont think i've seen a viva as nice before. also love the wards. Quote
vivaspeed Posted October 10, 2012 Author Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks Manu, but when you get a chance to see it in the flesh it's not that great... photos make it look way better Race car going? You mean does it go? - yes, is it going to leave my possession? - never! Owned it for ten years, been with me in no fewer than 5 cities around NZ. Would actually consider exporting it if I moved overseas (or at least store it till I returned). Quote
yoeddynz Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 ^ cheeky fucker 12A would sit nicely in there Geoff......... Quote
vivaspeed Posted November 2, 2012 Author Posted November 2, 2012 12A would go better in a yellow one with a tunnel chop and big flared arches... Oh, and I've got a 4AGE Celica deteriorating before my eyes so that may be a donor for a RWD 4AGE for a Viva, and then get stripped and repowered. Quote
