yetchh
Such a dick.. Installed the aem gauge and o2 sensor this arvo, wasn't too far off with seat of the pants tuning.. A bit lean all round really but not too bad. What initially was supposed to just be a drive to see what it was reading turned into me doing a factory reset so I could adjust entir rows to get it rich for power, then driving round for about 3hrs and got it running really good... Got home, then what did I do? Forgot to press store.. Ugh 1 1 1
yetchh
Clutch failed yesterday when I was giving it a bit of a cane, had to drive home rev matching. Luckily it was just roundabouts. Had noticed the slave leaking the other day when I did the O2 bung, saw the rez was down a tad but then forgot about it. Seal looked like it had been pulled over and when I looked down the bore sure enough there were a bunch of rust spots. Went into butlers today and ordered a new master and slave, while I was there I thought fuck it and ordered the same for the zephyr.
yetchh
Luckily my clutch master and slave arrived on time, put them in this morning and even had my 7 year old daughter push the clutch pedal for me to bleed them.. Stoked. Just have to readjust the travel, they seal a bit better than the old ones.. Now to just drive round the block lots..
yetchh
Bought one of those widow repair kits just before lock down with the view to repairing three stone chips in the front screen. Two half moon cracks and a semi bulls eye/star crack. All was going well until.. The last 2mm of the last crack to repair, small amount of pressure from inside and pop. Fucking spewing. I've been paranoid about this particular crack doing this the entire time since the revin and it all came down to me.. Thousand dollar mistake.
yetchh
Had to rebleed the clutch today, first things first chainsaw up some ramps.. Then discovered it was leaking fluid ftom the hard to soft line fitting, Here, Fucked around for ages trying to get it to seal before biting the bullet and pulling it all apart.. Discovered it had had some serious over tightening going on and misalignment.. Can see by the mark on the flare seat, this is the one I used, but on the original that circle wasn't complete which meant fluid was escaping,
Popular Post yetchh
Rather than fuck around trying to fix it I dove into my parts box(es) and found another hard and soft line ready to go.. Bonus. The tube nut should look like this, But instead of looked like this, Been wound right over the flare and was bottoming out.. All good tho, no more leakage. Daughter was pesting me the whole time as to when she could press the pedal for bleeding.. Needed a bit of support.. Hope she doesn't turn into a bogan.. 13
Popular Post yetchh
Ooff almost three years since the last post, time I guess for an update. She was all primed to do the mission to nats 20 in Raglan but as we know covid put paid to that. Last time I drove her legal was just after the first lockdown. My schedule was pretty much blocked with house reno's and the only time I actually spent on cars was moving them from the old house to mums (thanks mum) and a couple of blats around the the block (also re sleeving the zephyr clutch master and slave). It was being a cunt anyway as I couldn't get the cold start to work, and as you only get one shot per go the 3 or 4 times I did have a go resulted in me running down the battery before it would finally fire. Fast forward to last week and it's been about a year since I last tried and I had finally secured somewhere under cover to put it up here in the bay. Had to come down for a wedding so thought I'd stay the week, put it through a wof and see if I could get it ready to drive back up. Woken up a couple of times at 3am thinking about what the fuck it could be that is causing the hard starting and finally convinced myself that it was the injectors as the fuel system had never held pressure, then I started thinking (at 3am or course) that they'd probably flooded my sump with gas and fucked the engine. I rang nz efi straight away as I didn't want to be plagued with these issues whilst trying to get a WOF. Made a rush of it trying to get down to chch on a Friday arvo in holiday traffic so I could pull an injector and then drive into town before they shut to match a set. As luck would have it I had to start her to get her out of the tunnel house and she fired right up WTF!! Massive relief.. Next massive relief was failing the wof on just front tyres and a leaky front muffler. I had also woken at 3am compiling a long list of things she would fail on, both of those weren't on it. Big thanks to @CUL8R for hooking me up with falkens for the front, I went with a 55 profile as the old cracked 1990's toyo's were 50 series and had a way thinner sidewall than the rears. Also big thanks to @Hyperblade for hooking me up with John at Canary Automotive in woolston to fix the exhaust, he persuaded me in the end to do the full exhaust as mine was leeking from everywhere, I don't know how it wasn't condemned completely. Bit louder than I would like but at least it won't be an issue again. And also big thanks to @AALAWS for hooking me up with a front screen for an excellent price, didn't need it this wof but I should think that after nats the crack in my screen will have grown. And apart from raining twice (really fucken heavy after Murchison, great for a leaking classic)the drive up was flawless. Great..... Rain. Both girls were gagging to come in my car so we divvied up the drive with a stop in Murchison for ice cream.. And after a quick stop off at Alex and Hannah's in Marahau, made it up to the bay and parked it in the garage space I have. Having it on the trailer is good for two reasons, 1st being it means I have somewhere to put the trailer since my container is rammed, 2nd is that this garage floods with about 150mm of water so she's out of danger. Next update after nats or once Alex starts my rust repairs..
