Spencer Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 You can view the CAD library by clicking the CAD library tab above. We have had a few iterations of the cad library so the below discussion may no longer be relevant. But use this thread to discuss any problems you have, or to request someone to help you draw something you need. Ask away. Oh and if you actually get a file cut and its shit use the comments section! or get in contact and we can fix or delete it! Also it is use at your own risk or whatever, half of that stuff is just from the wilderness of the internet so measure the drawings against your parts or ask for help before dropping $$ on cutting. 1 Quote
Llama Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Good idea. Just out of curiosity, what are people using for their CAD? I have Creo parametric 1.0 from uni, but it's really frustrating, coming from sketchup (which I used to do draughting on). I could get my hands on solidworks though, is that any good? Feel free to split this into a different thread if you don't want it here. Quote
Simon Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Great idea Spence. Totally keen for W series to 1uz adapter plate drawings haha! I use solidworks. Maybe mods can just edit first post as they come. Quote
Spencer Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Simon didn't I send you that UZ drawing? or was that R154? I cant find it now! Yea I will form some kind of list in the first post once we have a few drawings Also I use Autocad, use it for work plans all the time so its just natural these days, used solidworks at uni Quote
xsspeed Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 used solid works and pro engineer at uni, use autocad now at work - no idea what if any standards are required for machining Quote
Simon Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Nah you never got round to it as it was on your work computer or something. I still haven't actually needed it yet though so not to worry haha. Quote
Spencer Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Man I sent it for sure! then you said you wernt going to use it. Ok I am going to find it now haha Quote
KKtrips Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Off Topic - but Simon - if you need 1UZ to W/G box adapter I can send you mine to copy if you like - I won't be using it anytime soon. Can take it to Feilding next weekend and you can grab it - I'll grab it back at swapmeat or something.. Quote
Spencer Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 I 100% have a adapter plate drawing for one KK, I'm fiirng up my old PC as we speak haha. Its quite abit of work to CAD up and get right!! Quote
Simon Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Thanks as for offer KK but yeah, cad drawing is priimo. Thanks for effort Spence. I did end up buying one of those a1 Turbo bells for cheap but they are total shit. Un impressed. Definitely recommend adaptor for U1 bell housing. I plan to have two uz motors running at some point so will need another. Quote
Simon Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Oh, 1uz manifold flanges would be killa. Might draw some one day. Quote
KKtrips Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Pretty sure OldNathan ?? has those already done.. Also 10-5 may have a miryion of everything.. Quote
Spencer Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Yea 105 should have all sorts. Ideally it would be awesome if people scan and measure a whole bunch of intakes/exhausts from common/cool engines and we can CAD them. Probably abit to much effort but would be awesome to have a library like that Quote
mark105 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 yeh ill have a hunt through my shit, pretty sure i have UZ zorst drawings some where. prob got that adaptor plate drawing spence is talking bout some where too as i used it to cut up shit for his 5v bell he was going to make. Quote
Spencer Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Sounds good that UZ one will work for the JZ aswell, just need to work out the correct thickness to make it work Quote
cute wee gem Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 You guys got them for JZ R154? or UZ if that'll work with a different thickness? Got a spare auto doing nothing/going to scrappy so the bellhousing could be useful Quote
Spencer Posted June 7, 2012 Author Posted June 7, 2012 Yea pretty sure I should be able to get something, no rush aye? Quote
ryanfels Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Hopefully this works JZ to GX61/GX71/MA61/MZ10 (possibly more models but these are the ones ive seen work) https://rapidshare.com/files/432074276/ ... awings.dxf Quote
Simon Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Awesome. Maybe we should include a user name next to the link? Those offline hosts are notorious for disappearing or removing files. That way people can get them again if they need them. Quote
