Seeking Auto gearbox advice.

I Changed the auto gearbox is the girlfriends car the old why was slipping in drive and had to semi drive it like a manual going from 1 - 2 then to D to function.

So got a new gearbox installed it, The new gearbox is doing the same thing.

Any idea why this might be happening is it a dud gearbox or is it something else causing this fault?

Cars a 1994 toyota Corona.

Hmm that is where I would start. Had an old commodore that used to do this when it was low of trans fluid.

I put about 5-6 Litres in there and it was reading full hot.

are the symptoms exactly the same between gearboxes?

No Different Torque converter.

Yeah thats what im thinking may have to hook it up to a computer and see what comes up, so brought a new gearbox for no reason.
