Farrrk, that isn't even a tape deck!

Yup, crazy shit huh!

I considered getting a tuner deck for the hell of it, but virtually all of the devices that connect via AUX have built in tuners these days anyway. Plus it would take up valuable space that could be better utilized by a graphic EQ or amp.

Yeah :(

Wow X66 II from 87-88? perfect era for my car then haha. Im going to be on the lookout now for a KEX Centrate.

This page has a nice pictorial guide to all the different components, should help you with your search. The owner occasionally sells equipment to other collectors but Yahoo is still probably the easiest and cheapest place to source them from.

Check out the KEX and KPX series tuner and cassette decks in the middle and towards the bottom of the page.

Also, earlier I mentioned the "HFW" series of speaker and how they were square in design... here's what they look like:

I'm really starting to dislike this kr2000 fellow and his constant steamrolling of all the vintage Pioneer auctions that pop up.

Fortunately the dollar is starting to pick up against the yen so I may start buying stuff from Japan again. You can't get NZ tuners from over there though :(
