KKtrips
Use tin foil and lemon juice - true story Proof right here - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=26760&p=633482&hilit=tin+foil+lemon#p633482 Pretty amazed that after 7 odd years frequenting these forums I have never come across this before. You can use tin foil/aluminium foil to remove surface rust from chrome and steel parts. Ball it up, add water or for ultimate results some acidic liquid like coke/lemon juice/vinegar/tomato sauce, rub over the rusted part and then rinse off. Comes up so sweet for so little effort! Do try it!
Mr.Mk1
I have success with steel wool. The fine stuff that usually has soap impregnated in it but that crumbles off in seconds

cute wee gem
and then????how do i get the crome back It doesn't strip the chrome, just the rust, it probably won't come out mint, but a little polish after might help?
danger
and then????how do i get the crome back Serious? Its rust. Just like theres no magic cure to wash the rust out of your car and back into new steel. Needs to go to an electroplater and be rechromed. Yowzer
It removes the surface rust from the chrome. But it does nothing to repair the chrome. If that's what you are having trouble with. Either way your chrome will be stuffed, but it will look a hell of a lot better with the rust removed from it.
