kicker
Scored a new seat which actually has some cushioning in it unlike the previous one, got some footpegs ready to go on and have a front pulley ready to be machined

kicker
Cheers man, hopefully have it done soon, I tend to take too long thinking about different ideas and waiting for parts/inspiration but I'm happy with how it looks just need to make it go now. I think I have fixed the erratic idle now too, the engine vibration would move the slide up an down in the carb making it rev/stall when you didn't want to so I put a spring from a bic pen on top of the slide (I assume there is supposed to be one, there is a hole it sits in, the old duffer who owned must have taken it apart and lost a few bits) and that now holds it in the position you set it at with the throttle. BlownCorona
yeah there are generally springs on top of the slide, how did you manage to get the slide returning to closed without it? gravity/magic/luck?
DodgySam
Magic...always magic...its the OS way!
kicker
Gravity was enough to drop the brass slide down again but the vibes would make it shimmy up and down. The first thing I noticed was a lack of a spring, that and some spacers which were causing slackness in the cable, it must have been a pain in the arse when it was still a reel mower, speeding up randomly haha I might keep the throttle where it is currently located just in front of the seat (yeah suicide throttle) and use a foot clutch, would be cool to have no controls on the bars
rot808
lols at throttlecrotch holding while speeding around velodrome, please do this
Guest kicker
This is a bit out of date so here are some pics. Here is where it got to in its first incarnation with the Atco engine Then I got some of these and decided to put two in for dromageddon As it was at the end of dromageddon. twin throttle levers, big air leak in rear engine inlet, belt tension bodge, loose and wrong size chain but other than that it ran good I got the air leak fixed but with the current gearing it'll only do 50kph flat but seems happy to do it all day, I ran out of gas after 40 laps last time out. I picked up a smaller rim recently to change the gearing, I'll find out soon if it'll work or not. The new throttle setup with twist grip and today I made a unneeded bracket for the cylinders and fired it up for some two stroke aromatherapy
Guest KIRK
how u guna attach the little rim to the spokes on the big one?
Guest kicker
was gonna either make some brackets and attach small rim to big rim or just cut some sheet metal into a circle and weld them up. might just go the sheet metal route, will be easy with a jigsaw and should be concentric enough
Guest KIRK
wouldn't it be easier to put bigger pully on the lay shaft?
Guest kicker
It's a bit toight for space there, wouldn't want to go much bigger plus rims are cheap
Guest KIRK
oh yur. yeh I seen your can buy kits kinda like that with lots of little brackets that bolt the rim to the spokes. dunno how strong it is/how long until spokes get ripped out. something like this I reckon is better?
