My name is Russell
Looks good man well done! Cant go wrong paint stripping engine bay. May as well give it a stich and gusset while bear? Gusset dimensions are in rally prep manual.
two_days_late
Cheers bros. Haha yea the plans keep growing as they do... I've got a copy of the rally prep manuals so I might take a look. The rear guards are giving a little bit of grief at the moment, I want it to sit a little lower still but without having to narrow the diff or goto flares. Hoping we can roll the guards a fraction more and get them under there! (225x15s) Next on the list is getting the front splitter on then the engine bay painted up to match the rest of the car. Also have a whole new front end kit (tca's, tie rods, bushes etc) and all the cross-member / steering / sway bar is being painted in black Hammerite so it should be looking sexy in there soon. Also looking for a steel flywheel if anyone has one, needs to be drilled to fit the bigger sierra clutch though. I have a standard escort one that's been redrilled / doweled to suit, but has also had a big chunk of meat taken off it... and I've heard mixed things about them exploding. two_days_late
Cheers for that bro. Hey do you still have the details for the dude that i brought it off? Those rostyles were meant to come with it but I couldn't get hold of him. Still keen to grab them if he has them. Matt
Leebo3
They are prob not the same rostyles that were on the car when I sold it, they were proper sport ones. But will PM you his stz
Raizer
Did you not cut the factory guards before putting the flairs on? Looking sweet though!
two_days_late
The fronts been cut a little already but the flares are just sitting on at the moment to get the positioning right though haha. Guard will be cut / beaten accordingly. Cheers man.. can't wait to get the damn thing drivable!
camo_78
did you get the flares from chch(well, kaiapoi)???i have the same ones on my panelvan albeit smoothed into the gaurds, theyre good quality flares ae??
two_days_late
Yep sure did bro.. they seemed really cheap so I was a bit skeptical but they seem fine. They'll be smoothed onto the guard soon as well, seem like a really good fit for a universal flare, the old ones I was going to use were way off. How long have you had yours on? BlownCorona
that windscreen banner is pretty sweet, shame the mods say no to them , maybe when the site gets its redesign we may have a new logo and banners may be on the cards/dreams. sweet car though, should be alot of fun
two_days_late
True, that one was actually on the car when I got it, will probably remove it as its a bit weathered anyway. Cheers man
