Yowzer
This ball peen hammer trick sounds pretty nifty. Might give it a try someday (without knowing what the fuck I'm actually meant to do with the hammer)

bubblegoose
use hammer/round end of spanner to hit gasket paper/cereal box against 'sharp' edge of manifold/2stroke barrel till it cuts through
Seedy Al
doesnt even need to cut through, just enough to mark into the gasket paper. MAGIC! can be a cunt when the gasket paper moves half way through though
Jif
Stick bolts in the holes when you knock it out so it wont move.

keltik
weld manifold to headproblem solved I dont know why more people dont do this....theres probably a very good reason, but its not like you really need to take the manifold off for most stuff. jakesae101
what gasket are you trying to make ?
Adoom
Kind of on topic. A trick I use for drilling holes in exhaust gaskets. Sandwich the gasket between two bits of flat bar with the correct sized hole through them and drill the gasket through that. Stops you from mangling the gasket. I had to do this with my exhaust manifold gasket when I replaced the 10mm studs with 12mm ones.
Chrome_GT
If you have a CAD file of the gasket there is a place up north where you can get them made really accurately. Perhaps not what you are after but i'll post a link up here once i find the name of the place. We got a whole lot of CR500 barrel gaskets done. Was cheaper to get them made than to buy them!
