if they are old and worn (backlash, bearing pre-load and contact patches will get shit) will break way easier.    if you haven't put new diff in yet,  crank up the side bearings. if backlash etc is ok. just crank up the adjuster on each side the same amount.  more preload you have, less deflection, less breaky
