RT
hi dave, thanks for the info, i thought that may have been the case. still should interesting to see what it goes like . the twin cam sierra goes alot better than the old sohc. what is a set of front brakes like yours worth?. i want to upgrade the stoppers on my mk2 cort as it goes a fair bit faster with the v6 than the 1600. i was going to go to a falcon disc and caliper as i already have the falcon stud pattern. but there is quite a bit of maching required. somthing simpler would be better. cheers dave f . the engine you speak of is a 8v DOHC engine, yeah not a cosworth and far from it unfortunately. They are 130hp and tuning any decent power out of them is tragically difficult since they have no aftermarket support. To quote from classicford magazine, the best place for one of these engines is at the bottom of the sea...
RT
oh really .. yeha i heard the rover alloy V8's are very light and good..... Mate of mine is doing that conversion at the moment. Fits very well in an escort, but it's the same weight as a pinto, no lighter, and only 160hp, athought getting 200hp out of them isn't too difficult. macabre
Fibresports XPack or Full Zakspeed? You can get both! oRly, will have to do some research, mainly just after front and rear guards though. Found a place in nz that does rear ones but not front. 800 bucks each was a bit steep though. what sort of price is a kit over there if you know off hand? cheers
