Unclejake
MY engine number is 711M6015BA.Am after another engine, found one but on the block it says 68H E605D-A. ?? l Tell whomever is looking at the second block to look harder. 6015 is Ford code of the era for cylinder block so all Kent motors will have 6015 on them, even the 120E pre-crossflows. BA means 1600 from memory, but I am not very good with the crossflow denominations so check that. Have the block number read again and if it says 681F 6015 BA then it will probably be a suitable substitute for your existing engine but will have weaker maincaps. These numbers do not indicate if the engine you are looking at has the same sump and oil pick up as your existing motor though. They came out in more than one type of small Ford, including Mk2 Cortina which has a front bowl sump, unlike the Escort's rear bowl sump.
