DB8-TypeR
Looking at getting a 17" Supertrapp Muffler with 2.25" inlet. However I have a feeling it will be far far to loud for current laws etc. Anyone had experiences with them that can comment on how loud they are/arnt? Im planning on running a full 2.25" exhaust with a couple reso's and perhaps a Turboflow style muffler in there as well. Im not really aiming for performance, just thought it would be cool to rock a Supertrapp as I remember seeing them on Rotary's back when I was little and had no idea about cars. RUNAMUCK
They were all the rage back in the 90's, I don't think I've even seen one since the 90's actually.
UTERUS
What's the deal with them. Do the the discs interrupt exhaust flow? More discs = more muffling? Sound better than other mufflers? Restrictive? Or just look meke?
SHGWAG
They are the definition of Awesome.... All the V8 boy used to / still do use them. I say go for it
oldrx
I thought they were illegal as they are easily alterable - adding/removing discs???
johnnyfive
Are exhausts with removable silencer tips illegal? Also, find a cop that knows wtf is going on when he sees one. I vote yay.

CaMpylobacter
more plates = mroe backpressure = quieter. I want a haggard as one for my citroen for lolz I will re-engrave it to say supertramp haggarder the better. someone giz
lowlancer
I'm of the opinion they look stupid and the advantages seem minimal vs a nice quiet system. I say no
10Speed
used to use one on my VW Baja with tri-mill headers , sounded cool also had the advantage of being considered a spark arrestor for use in the bush...
Ke36
more plates = mroe backpressure = quieter. nope, its the other way round quietest with no plates and i believe they are illegal now aswell
CaMpylobacter
weird. I always thought it was quiet with plates + extra backpressure. which would in theory make sense. shit me, FAQ on supertrapp site even confirms that I am in fact, wrong. sorry. illegal woul dbe if they're the only muffler you're rolling. if you take it off and it's sufficiently quiet then it's essentially fine. in my situation it'd be sweet. most other peoples, however, it would not be. DB8-TypeR
Still considering getting one, just make tail section of exhaust removable if need be and have a normal muffler for WOF's etc. But it shouldnt be too loud, I'm making the exhaust smaller than Ideal with enough mufflers to keep it quiet without the supertrapp. Its just a daily and dont want it loud, thought it would be cool to see supertrapp's making a comeback
