KKtrips
Those mounts you posted look lush. Buy? Save a bit of fucking around making some etc. Yeah they do look good - I can most probably make something a bit cheaper - but whether I can be bothered I guess. cletus
they look like they would come loose a lot- a bolt to pivot on at the engine mount and a bolt to pivot on where it attaches on to the crossmember
KKtrips
I think the bottom one sits hard against the top of the crossmember so it won't pivot. I can most probably make up one very easily with a length of RHS and some drilling.
Spencer
Yes I would hope so.
vivaspeed
Good work. Shame the mounts screwed up being able to get it all in today. I must say your engine crane looks good, I have exactly the same model...
KKtrips
Yeah - I'll be back on track by next weekend I hope - I saw your one at Beavers - yours is only a 1 tonner - UJ's one is a 2 tonner..
dr.wylde
got another question for ya Is your flywheel one of those repro one and is the clutch fork setup a cable pull type jobby similar to factory 202 commy manual? I hope that makes sense!
KKtrips
Yeah flywheel is repro one (most probably chinese) and yeah the bellhousing is specifically made for VB-VK Commys using the W55 gearbox but using the Commy V8 clutch setup (with a Supra clutch plate) But yeah it will use the 6cyl Commy clutch cable. But uses a V8 clutch fork and VN release bearing. It is this exact bellhousing with the 6 cyl clutch cable arrangement cast into the RH side. (you can also see it has the Turbo and Trimatic options for the top 2 bolts)
dr.wylde
aaah I only ask as i'm look into what future options there are for trimatic pattern blocks and my wb runs the same or similar clutch cable as the commodorecheers
KKtrips
I edited in a pic of my bellhousing into my above post.
snapper
I spent the arvo on more painting prep work, and then spent the end of the arvo sharing a rigger of Bookbinder with my neighbour, along with lengthy discussions of guitar music. I had been intending to drop by to see you and shoot some carefully composed documentary photographs while you worked, preserving this for posterity. Great to see the progress! UTERUS
Rad, manual v8 is the cash money. I carried out plenty of fast clutch engagements, sometimes even going around corners? W series will love you for it.
ryanfels
Where does the shifter end up? To far forward?
KKtrips
Still haven't finalised the final position of the motor yet so can't be sure. Eyecrometer says it looks pretty good at the moment.

kicker
Purfect. Yell out if they turn up and the animal team will be at your service. I'm not working this weekend so can lend a reach around, better bring our safety helmets too
KKtrips
Reckon I'll rup into it on Saturday morning and get er done. Hope to have starter motor by the weekend too. Then I can throw the exhaust on and wire it all up and maybe even start it. Though I won't even bother making gearbox mount till I have the engine sitting in it's final place. So happy I don't have to change or modify the sump and or crossmember.
Beaver
better bring our safety helmets too God yes. I felt so exposed working on cars all weekend without one on! May have been wearing jandels while grinding but thats not the point. Excite
