tregath
Has anyone on here put mk2 leafs into a mk1 escort? I have just pulled the ass out of the mk2 and trialled it in the mk1 and the front of the leaf springs will not fit in the front bracket. Any bright ideas how to rectify without to much hassles? peteretep
the mk2 springs are wider, unless you can swap the mounts over it wont work, why would you want to put mk2 springs in a mk1 anyway?
mekemelorry
If everything else matches up... grind the sides off the main leaf at the spring eye, its legit as, just dont get it to hot.
cheater_5
If anyone cares, I have a set of mk2 escort leafs and a few other bits (seats etc) for sale. carry on
tregath
Im looking at doing it as i have full mk2 drivetrain im trying to put into a mk1. As the mk2 leafs are wider and stiffer i thought it could be a good idea to swap the leafs over as well. Is grinding the side off the eye really a good idea? and a legit one at that?
