cool, where did you find that old bus? looks just like one I used to own...

also with your wanting to put a cam in it, I would put a better carb on it first and you will find it will make a bit of difference, The Current Carby is off a 1300GT Escort, so it runs out of go higher up in the rev range. could be fixed by putting a 2L carby on it. worth a go anyway....

good thinking mcgiver....i shall look into that. i get the tie rod end back from the engineer today, and then i just need to whip that back in, finish putting the front struts back in, bleed the brakes and then i can take it back for its recheck...fingers crossed haha. oh yeh do you know if mk2 gt calipers will bolt on?

Not an expert on the cam side of it by any means but I wouldnt suggest just getting a cam off trademe and stickin it in and hoping for the best. If you get a cam thats more of a race grind or spec you'll find you'l have issues with the car not going right and be a pig to drive round town. As hamradio told me through an email the BCF2 grind will give you even more power but it will not idle well below 1000RPM and If you want to have a lightened fly wheel in there to that will make tick over even worse. the bcf1 grind is similar to the gt sport spec cam I have in mine if you are looking for alternatives. The cam in mine cost around 200 all up and that was from kelfords and you have peace of mind being able to send it back if somethings not right and you have the spec sheet that comes with it. A few mates tried to convince me not to put the cam in it and told me it would idle like crap etc but its drives real nice round town idels at 900rpm and has good power throught the rev range. Dont take it the wrong way if you wana go out there and do something different go for it y all means but just check out your options before deciding on waht way to go. just my 2 cents worth mate

i think its a sign when the exhaust man asks "has it been raised in the bak".....lol i need to get it lowered asap.

can someone recomend someone in chch to shorten strut inserts? i have lowering springs bt they arnt captive, and if its cheap enough ill do that instead of cutting coils....

anyone got any thoughts on wat colour to get my rims painted/powder coated? they are curently gold mesh with silver lip but the paint is fucked so im going to get the lip polished and the centre powdercoated. was thinking of keeping it gold or maybe gloss black...? car is red with a balck stripe down each side so the black might tie in with that...

any ideas?

Did Conrad (powder coater) sort you out? - Gave me mean discount this time round..

Wont know price until I take them back to get the clear done, hopefully early next week. going to cost me nearly what i paid for the wheels to get the dish/lip machined though...bit gutted but ah well, will look brand spankers.

Hopefully will be in late next week to see you :D haha. I owe you big time. Just let me know if I need to cover costs etc, dont like scabbing off gc's ALL the time haha
