Truenotch
There's 3 ways of doing things: the right way, the wrong way and the Max Power way. Isn't that just the wrong way?
Raizer
Isn't that just the wrong way? Yes, only faster!
kpr
looks like you're killing them handling and braking wise. nice work
Truenotch
There's a lot more in it too. My discs are warped and it was getting bad knock off before big braking points, plus a decent jiggle. It needs brake ducting and I suspect that both master cylinders could do with re-kitting, then I'll replace all the rose joints and the rear shocks so it should handle even better. mikuni
So many cool/lol things in that video, even though I only watched 5 minutes of it. Will watch it in depth tomorrow. That Corolla did a typically fail ST start, full of wheel spin and white smoke. And that RX7's overtake was hilarious. Pull back in to a tight line right after passing someone on the outside. Well done.
Celica RA45
what struts are you using ,hopefully not the std ae86 stub axles
Truenotch
Yip, standard AE86 stub axles with fairly small bearings.
Celica RA45
and most likely you are getting stub axle flex ,ra40 struts is what the ae86 race teams used back in the day ,much bigger stub axle with no flex
Celica RA45
and did you notice with that crappy raspyy exhaust note that the harmonics are going through your vid camera from the exhaust note
Truenotch
Do you know if the caliper bracket mount on the strut is the same as an AE86? And the brake disc PCD + offset? It would be a lot of work to change the struts or stubs now.
Truenotch
and did you notice with that crappy raspyy exhaust note that the harmonics are going through your vid camera from the exhaust note The harmonics are from the driveshaft, which I'm sorting before the next round, and the exhaust is a work in progress. Celica RA45
exhaust notes can do that as well if the headers are wrong in there length .what you can do is machine a sleeve over the std stub axle like trd japan did that will make it a bit stronger ,but most of the group A sprinters over here just change struts

Truenotch
Wink wink, nudge nudge... I should be all set to race at Taupo this weekend. Come watch if you're in town . It's got new rose joints in the front, new clutch bits, new release bearing, 2 piece driveshaft, an extra muffler, new wheel bearings, new brake pads... and the LF castor arm bracket has an extra two bolts that had gone missing (god knows how long ago... my suspicion is a year or two since my steering first went gay under brakes). Should feel like a brand new car! Truenotch
Just had a look through the videos from round one last year... It looks like I had more grip on slicks when it was drizzling than I did this year in the dry!! I guess that's what you get for running season-old tyres .
