10Speed
Colour is slowly finding it's way on to the body... the interior is done now... (and after nearly 6 years this is finally page 2!!!)
10Speed
painter is a fussy cunt - didn't want to hang the doors (can't really complain about him being so fuss though...) so had a late start at work this morning and hung some doors beforehand... also ran a tap through about a hundred holes for hinges, bumpers and guards etc used shiny new stainless hardware... 10Speed
Inside of boot painted Insides of the guards now have underseal on them... whipped the wheels off whipped the tires of ready for stripping and powder coating... there's some strange rubbery (seam sealer?) stuff all over the welds, is this normal? thoughts on what colour to powder coat? I think I am leaning towards grey, pretty much the same colour as the paint that is already on them...

10Speed
geez I'm sick of posting trivial updates... and it's looking like a super tricky job (mostly the masking) to paint the centers cream - will ponder some more...

10Speed
not exactly a crate turbo engine... but it is a turbo engine in a crate at 8 lbs and it makes 245hp at the crank. At 12 lbs it makes over 300 it was built for a beach buggy so a little work is required to convert it to fit a sedan....more for a future phase 2 rather than immediate use... 10Speed
while you've been eating burgers and drinking beer I've been plodding away on the car... The guards are now on aligned pretty well (after a bit of filing and drilling), along with fender beading. Door, boot and bonnet rubbers are all fitted. Handles and catches are a mostly functional. External lighting is fitted and I started sound deadening the interior. Might not sound like much but the above has probably taken 30hrs so far.... getting closer to the jobs I have been putting off, Door window mechanisms rubbers and channels etc. As well as a full rewire with a new loom... so many wires for such a simple system....

10Speed
^ video After almost 5 years of silence it started for the first time this weekend. Have completely rewired the whole car with a new loom and converted it to 12v while I was at it... btw putting 12v into a 6v choke will ruin your day... It's funny how jobs seem take much longer than initial estimates... The next task is to have a headliner put in....
