your little suzi looks super sweet, esp on rims and lowered and i can also verify that the garage is jealous inducing esp to me struggling in my pokey little cave with 3 other cars out on the driveway

btw, shavens better half was able to carry a short block for this beastie half way down the driveway by herself to that sweet garage in a wet/oily cardboard box holding the box by the top - max power! 3 pots ftw!

also, me and my bro used to get stuck behind a hiace like yours every day on our 30km school run - we both hated them and all their ilk - we couldnt pass it cause our ride was a 1300 MkII escort Auto, Ghia beige nana spec (my nana actually had a green one with vynil roof too!) - when it kicked down from 3rd to 2nd it just made more noise!

tis funny cause now i want an old Hiace like yours and never ever want another mkII escort (but will have a Mk 1 cortina please, thanks)

Fuck!

Choice - proud of euwe man..

Get that back nice and low then chop the front to match.. :D

I would love to see this on some black steel wheels with a little dish - what stud pattern?

awwww shucks fanks mang, yeah pretty proud of myself as well for getting off my arse and doing something with the car. No excuse now, got a nice shed and no job. Conditions are perfect.

Agreed on the black steels. Stud pattern is 4x114.3. Here's one I prepared earlier:

Yes, much love for this thang, wish I had a two door, so chur. May I ask what model starlet the the springs are from? Are they kings? annnnnnnnd how much lower is it with them in there? Churs.

Theyre rear King Springs KTRL-55-SP, from EP80/1/2, EP90/1. Fit perfectly into the spring perches. I had a set of Integra/Civic rears too, but they were just a bit too wide.

And as for how much lower.. umm I really should have measured a before/after, but I didn't.

But I made a little photoshop overlay using an old photo with the same size rims, and from that I reckon the drop is about 4cm. So with 2" blocks in the back, and maybe one coil cut off the fronts it should be about right.

Cheers for the info chap, bloody rippa. If I try the old flip and rotate on the back axle, it should lower the back about 50mm, so those springs in the front would be perfect (im assuming our cars share the same struts?) Also, regarding wheel nuts, my car has one acorn wheel nut on it that works with wheels made for 12mm studs, I think it may be off a mid 80's swift? I'm going to try find a set, and if I fail i'll have to do the same conversion you have, so I can fit my mags.

looks like where the u bolts mount to the leafs that the leafs are level, so adding the blocks will shift the wheels within the guard towards the front of the car? or is it just the photo?

You mean the leaves are NOT level? Yeah I think there has been a little shift forward, but I'll take a better look tomorrow. Should get the engine in too so will get a better idea of front/rear height too.

Yeah I don't know what I can do about it really - might just have to live with shorter wheelbase/do more handbrake skids.
