NewGuy
As said before:Take it to a mechanic (Jimmy Arthurs can recommend one) and get three tests done before you touch anything. 1) Leak down 2) Coolant pressure 3) TK (or KT - I can never remember) You are out of your depth and do not have the right tools so a couple of hundred dollars spent with the right guy could save you thousands EDIT: ^ "Out of your depth" is not an insult. I wouldn't attempt touching injection systems as I am out of my depth when it comes to such new fangled stuff. Your right i will expand on this after dinner. Glad i havent just certed wofed and regod the car Got insurance though I will listen I just thought it was fixed ahhh well
sholdowa
Dunno what these engines are like - the only triumph I had was a 1500 fwd in the early 80's and I put a rod through the block on that - but the dolly sprints are legendary for overheating and warping the head. Correct - and if NewGuy has a vacuum leak or has set the carbs up too lean the combustion chamber tempratures would have been too high and it will melt down fast..... (too much advance can do the same thing as you will know) With luck it is still salvageable. If the head is pouros then things are not quite as simple

RUNAMUCK
A mate of mine old man has been spannering trumpets almost since they were new. You could say he's a triumph specialist. I pop in now and again to say gudday. Despite having been his bread and butter for many years, he hates them. They are badly designed, under thought, over engineered shit boxes. everything the poms did, the japs did better. But, he did a great job of tuning the Hitachi SU's on my datsun!
