This thread here has captivated me. The lengths that this fella is going to rebuild an old rusty Rx2 4 door and do all the panel pressings himself. I know this car and have been in it as it belonged to a good friend so for me its fucking awesome to see it getting rebuilt. The guy who has bought it and restoring it is a gifted engineer with some awesome tools/machines at his disposal. But then he goes the next step and makes his own machines like a fucking awesome bead roller.

Thanks for sharing this one!
This thread is amazing. 144 pages, i'm blown away so far(upto page 13, skimming through luckily lots of photos.. )

machining dies to press out shapes for the seat belt bolts as per original on the inner sills was enough, but the bead roller tools he makes is just as impressive.
loved the way he balanced the rotisserie also, very very neat thread.

This guy been posted yet?

This is the project king in my eyes as they are just amazing badass and he has has done plenty including the V10 street motorcycle, as pictured on his Tshirt. They way he co-joins engines is easy for him but only a dream for people like me.

when you get near the end of the thread you'll find there's a fall out with some of the others and he moves the thread over to this new forum...

not so much a specific project,

but a good video channel on metal forming by a coachbuilder in Melbourne Australia

first video is how he's making front and sides of an E type Jaguar bonnet

second video is a few other ways of shaping metal, using a wooden buck for the BMW custom rear 1/4 panel(inbuilt huge flares)

later in the video some welded sections and forms. his channel has many other examples

A couple of years back I got fed up with the general fragility of Triumph gearboxes (again) and decided I would make one of the Mazda gearboxes I had kicking around fit in my Triumph GT6. Critical goal was minimal hackery to car itself….……

 …… was a bit of a mission.

came across this gem today, got an interview with Street Machine at Drag Challenge.

been watching the subscriber count climb from 600 this morning to 700 odd already.

AWESOME channel to subscribe to i think, if you are interested in drag racing? or the mighty Honda K24 engine? this channel is awesome. part one of a build into a 1983 celica and is doing drag challenge currently running Mid 8 second 1/4mile unofficially (smoke broke the beam on one run)
