oldnrusty
So as you mite have noticied, progress is abit slow. Money and motivation is alittle lacking at the moe, but cheers for the comments, certanly helps, so yeah delivery Time Hell yeah and about time aswel You have to see them in person to really see how skinny they are.... ... they so look like space savers So put the tyres on and thought id see how its sits with the height i had it set to befor Now sits AS LOW AS IT CAN! is actually ON the ground and cant even push it forward haha Was Great for motavation only shit thing is that they couldnt put the white wall flapper on these tyres So was abit pist bout that, but mite just have to brake out the paint brush again Does make it look alittle bit tougher i guess, but i dont know, big fan of white walls, just in case you didnt notice so now i have some really nice brand new dunlup sport sumthing-a-rathers cost me $200 per tyre but will sell for $120 ono if anyones keen my number is 021 217 4499, probly put them on trade me soon if no one here buys them. Size 175 65 15s odd ball size but a good tyre any was, back to the Vdub, bit worried how those tyres are gona look once i have to raise it, i recon it mite look shit coz they wont fill the gaurds, but kinda dont have an option, i need the skinny tyre so it dosnt rub on the inside Just about forgot, had to relocate my fuel filler, hope this is legal Car was resting on the old tyres, but the new skinnys fit up in the gap....when the fuel fillers meet to be next is the brake, but thats all for now Cheers
oldnrusty
So getting back into it, trying to get it all really for cert, my brothers coming ovr in november and would be sweet if its was ready by then. Front ends jacked up, but this is where the back end should be sitting height wise, got some new stickers aswel discs off agian, im doing everything that mite help, even if its just alittle, it will all add up. So got the discs machined at ABC auto brake and clutch in town I over exposed this photo so you can see that the adjuster bolt is hitting the fuel tank, when set to its highest height not that i really want it at this height but it will need to sit here for cert so yeah it not hitting in the photo coz as you can see ive put a bit of wood to jack it up not sure what to do about this, at the moe only thing ive come up with is to space the tank up with washers or something but dont know how legal this is, any help would be sweet, cheers ive got a tin of POR15 all ready and waiting to paint the underside, just not looking forward to it will look heaps better once its done thou, ill get on to it soon new brake bits, new pads, hoses, and rotors Rotors dont look pretty but the guy at ABC said they should be sweet, pad doest even go that high up on the rotor any way New hoses, had to get these coz my WOF guy said they were hanging too low, under the height of the rim i asked them to be a good centermeter shorter but wasnt alot shorter, havent put them on yet but will be well pist if i have to get them redone pull the calipers apart, heaps of shit in them, and found this crack it the bore!! its afer the seal, but cant be good. my brother sent me a website of a shop in oz (where he lives) and they do new set for $195 so think they mite be on the cards for now im just gona bolt these back up and see how they go cheers
oldnrusty
Reassembled the front caliper last night. hoping that the crack that was in one of them is sweet, but will order new ones anyway. They bolted back on fine, just your usual old car pain in the arse stuff. And as you can see the new hoses sit heaps higher, now bend UP rather than hanging down. Old one were too stuck n there ways to change form been bent down to up, but all good im sure new hoses will make a difference anyway Ran out of time to finish hooking up the hoses, so didnt get a chance to bleed them Try and get that done this week cheers for now
oldnrusty
going good, 2mouths in between updates, not bad Yea. my bad. but have been doin work on her in between getting side traked on the C90 build and sorting WOF shmit for Rodeo Got the front brake lines sorted, still need to bleed them up. Stripped the under belly, ready for a thick coat of POR15 and then a layer of under seal in a can While stripping it back found a couple more holes in the floor Pain in the arse, coz was plaining to paint it this weekend and have that job done but now have to get it to a panel beater, and with the sunroof still smashed makes it a total pain coz it has to stay inside with the rain the way it has been , So if theres anyone keen to help me out and can bring there welder down rat patch a few holes, theres a few beers in it for them and heres the damage... Pretty much how its been sitting for the past.....well like um 2 months shame Apart from the rust holes the rest come up pretty good really

My name is Russell
Helped Hayhole out on his Dub while the escorts getting its cage made. so here is a Pic dump. Front sculpted to get better clearance and beam modified, bigger tyres on front, guards removed to trim bit from up under guard to get full lock and travel. rear end lowered also. sits nice and even now with plenty of clearance, drives mint now, no bottoming out or scraping.
